Happy New Year everyone

It has been announced on Facebook that eight new Schleich made Smurfs will be released around the middle of the year. No pictures or any other details at this point.

Looking forward to hearing and seeing everyone’s latest discoveries in 2020

Found a little bit more information on the 2020 Smurfs but still haven’t seen any pictures.

20818 Smurf with butterfly
20819 Smurf with good luck charm
20820 Smurf with tooth
20821 Smurf with Champagne bottle
20822 Smurf with medal
20823 Smurf with sign
20824 Gargamel
20825 Azrael

It also likes the Smurfs are made in Romania! Due to be released in July.

Great Kath! Looks as though quite a few of those could potentially be old moulds, hopefully all new ones. Romania?! What info do you have Kath? I wonder if current smurfs have been changed to Romania marking?

Here are two links that I found about the new Smurfs. There was also something on the Stichting van Smurfenverzamelaars Facebook page. However there appears to be a discrepancy with 20824. Some have not used this number and others have this listed as Gargamel.

Thanks, Tommo.

First Impression: Is that I already like these more than last year's release but let's wait and see. It's also interesting to note that there is Papa Smurf, Smurfette or Brainy Smurf as part of this new release. Perhaps it's time they should get a rest.

What do you think?

Did you mean them ‘not’ being a part of this release? Not sure about the Medal, Bottle or ‘I love you’ sign, a bit lazy again regurgitating old designs. Azrael... what was the point. The others are okay. The only one I really like is Gargamel and more because of the net. At least they’re still making them. Hope they start to do more cohesive themes next.

Yes, that is correct. Perhaps I could have worded this better.

I agree they have recycled some ideas from the past but like you I am happy Schleich still producing Smurfs. It wasn't clear last year that Schleich was going to continue to make Smurfs.

There is a real lack of imagination in the Schleich design department, I think.
Nothing new except tooth and butterfly ; just remade.
I am not crazy about the new desing of smurfs since 2018
but I must say I ike the way the 6 smurfs are smiling : there is a kind of joy typically smurfy in it.
Yes, Kath, it was time for papa, smurfette and baby to leave for a while ; I think Gargamel and Azraël should have gone with them.

I read on Stichting van Smurfenverzamelaars Facebook page that the 2020 Smurfs won't be released until September. This is becuase Coranavirus.
