Hi guys,

I just came along this thread on a German smurf board, ín which someone is asking if that train actually exists.
http://www.onlinewebservice8.de/cgi-bin ... 877&compr=

As far as I know, it wasn't released at all. :( But in case that there should be another playset (I doubt), I'd highly appreciate that one. :smitten:

What do you think about getting in touch with Schleich suggesting that playset?

Hi Dom,

great picture and great idea. :-D

I have just sent it to them because I would love that train. :gimme:

And it is not likely that we will spend time in jail because we send it to Schleich, so I think that is a great idea. Eventhough it probably isn´t that easy to get them to start producing things we like. But why not give it a shot. I think because of the movierelease next year this is probably the best opportunity in a long time to get them to make new smurfitems.
:)

@Gerda: You could be right, for the term "Packungsinhalt" , which is used ( that is content of package in English) in the description, hints at the figurines. :D

Gerda,

I would guess it would have been sold without the smurfs like the other smurf accessories.

40020 Windmill, 40021 Smurftrain, 40025 Farm and 40027 Gargamels castle.

It would probably include the parts shown under the pictures. But I just love this train. :gimme: I would be happy with just the train, I have these smurfs already. :o :)

Just think of the new markings and variations that we could find for the smurfs though :o :)

Oh I'd love that! They are missing a train so it could be a good idea. Come on Schleich! :-D :) :)

Sorry to say that this train never made it into smurf production, I have it featured in a catalogue that the SCCI produced. It is a shame as I think it would be a fantastic playset :(
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Wow, I would have LOVED that train .. and yes, it is odd that they've never done anything engine related!

Is this a good point to again say ... new smurf set ~ hobbies (and I also really want a smurf holding a chess piece & one holding a mini smurf i.e. a smurf collector) :-D

that is very interesting. never seen that train before. Shame it didn't make it into production. Looks like a nice set.

I found this paper when I was going through my smurfstuff.

It seems this train was meant to be released in autumn 1986.
And it was developed together with Märklin.
Think about it, Schleich and Märklin. This should have been a SUPER SUPER playset. Like a dream come true. Shame it didn´t get it to the shops. :(

Maybe Schleich or Märklin has it in their archives. :-?

In Sweden the smurfs are blue ( and yellow).

If there is a few "testversions" of this somewhere. I can´t imagine what the prices for them would be, if you check the value of Märklin parts and how many collectors of Märklin there are, it would be without any doubts the most expensive smurfpart of the ones I can think of.

This is a very nice playset. I also wish they had released this at some stage.....at least long enough to not make it now a very expensive item out of our price ranges.
I also really want a smurf holding a chess piece & one holding a mini smurf i.e. a smurf collector :-D
Nice ideas Helen.....I would support both. The Smurf holding a Smurf would be very cute.

To Andre: I am told there is only 1 complete train in existence and the old old boss of Schleich has it at his house. He has been offered 15,000 euros and says no, the only way to get it is to be prised out of his dead hand!!

Postby Azrael » Sun Nov 15, 2009 1:44 pm
Right...

Lets find out where the old boss of Schleich lives and play the waiting game outside his house then!
