Schleich have put their prices up for the first time in three years by about 20% on the normal smurfs and supers so I am revising my prices although I won't be increasing them by the same percentage as Schleich. Everyone who has already paid for their 2006 Smurfs will obviously get them for the price they paid. Schleich state increasing cost of raw materials as the reason for this price increase.

Perhaps some smurfs needed plastic surgery and the cost of this has forced prices up ? who knows !

Now which smurfs would be a candidate for the need of plastic surgery ?

:-D

There seems to be a trend..maybe Schleich are copying off the train companies? :(
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Hi Karen, do you think that the impending smurf movie could have something to do with the price hike ?? :D Lucie

I guess it might do? It was a bit of a shock such a big increase but most companies increase their prices marginally every year and like Schleich said, they haven't actually done this for three years. At the end of the day we want Schleich to keep making money so they keep making smurfs so I guess there shouldn't be too many complaints, and hopefully this will mean they can improve the quality or at least make sure standards don't slip. I'm going to try and offer more "deals" on the newer items so if people take more they'll get a better price.
