Since my mum start to collect smurfs here a place where she use to work.
This is a big symbol of the city Goes. The TV tower.
They start to build the tv tower in 1955 and was finished in 1957.
First it was 159 high but since a new mast is on it, it’s a bit shorter, now 137 meter.
My grandmum was the cleaner from 1959 until 1976 and then my mum took over.
To bad i couldn’t get in anymore, otherwise i could have showed you a lot more ……

Made in 1801 and in use till 1967 ………. now only in use by vollunteers.

This is the cityhall, mainly in use for weddings…………….there was one but i was to late to take a picture.
The oldest part is from the year 1410.
Before the cityhal is the big marketplace.
On Saturday and Tuesday there is a market.
At the side of the market there are a lot of pubs.
So when something happens on the market like a fair or music it’s a very nice place to be.
Here a picture, the building with the two towers is the cityhal, i don’t have to tell where the pubs are …………………..

This is the toyshop were i buy the new smurfs………………
In 1836 the family Visser started a shop on the corner of the marketplace.
A small shop were they started selling all kind of things.
In the 1950 they start to sell things for household and toys.
And in the year 1990 the present owner and his parents deside to sell only toys.
The WT smurf visit some friends ……..

This is the harbor in Goes. Made between 1644 and 1651.
The bridge looks old but is just placed around 1970.
At first the harbor was used for freight but after 1970 it’s in use for recreation.
In the summer it’s full with ships from people who spend the holiday on the water.
A beautifull sight.

My brother is a vollunteer at the SGB ( steamtrain Goes-Borselle )
In the 1920 the track was open for freight.
This was in use untill 1971, since then the track is used for tourists.
My brother is now learing for machinist, but that’s a proces that takes years.

It is of season now so i couldn’t get in.
This is the building where all the trains are in.
Now all probably in a 1000 pieces, every two year it’s big maintenance to keep the train up to date.

A few years back i was allowed to ride on the train instead of the wagons.
An amazing ride for me………………
So this is an old picture from my brother and me.

Some of you know that my dad and me are building a small city for my nephews.
Yes we all have something with trains in the family.
We wanted that it looked a bit like Holland so there had to be water…………
And ofcourse a small bridge.

In the year 1953 there was a big flood in Zeeland ( the region where i live )
A little village called Kruiningen ( my mum lived there when she was little ) was badly hit.
And the house where she use to live was full of water and mud…………..all up to the second floor.
The years after that our goverment deceided that something like that should never happen again.
So they started the Delta plan.
In the hole region they started to build dikes and other big projects.
This is a part of it.
It’s not in Goes but i worked there for my schoolproject.
And since it’s something my region is famous for………………i wanted to show something.
This is a road on top of locks ….. when there is a very big storm they can close all the locks from the big building on the picture.

Now this is something my region is famous for.
The “Bolus”
It doesn’t look to good but it’s very nice.
Dough rolled in brown sugar and then for a short time in the oven ……………

Amazing but thru.
There was just a smurffair in Holland……………….well that couldn’t miss ofcourse.
It was about 75 minutes from where i live.
He must have felt home there…………. He never seen so many friends.
There were more sellers then usual only not so many buyers, but that was only better for me.

This is the chairman of the Dutchcollectors club.
