The smurf is ready and has started his world trip. He is leaving the snowy village in Sweden and heading for warmer places. Like the Netherlands.
He just has to make a short stop in town before leaving Sweden.
I´ll be back with more pictures tomorrow.

The traveller just stopped for this picture from where I live.
We live by a channel outside Linköping in Sweden and eventhough the water gates are most beatiful during the summer we really like them during the winter also.

In Sweden Twelfthday is a holiday so maybe the mail could be delayed with a few days. Most people stay home this tuesday and wednesday.
And as you know we celebrate this holiday because it was the day the 3 wise men came to Betlehem.
So the traveller also took this picture. 6 wise men on this picture though
.

And today I will send the traveller to you Lia.
He will travel with this booklet, so everbody can send greetings to eachother.
And the first part of the journey to Lia, he will bring a friend. That smurf is hidden on the picture to tease Lia a bit.
Maybe you already have it.
PS. Lia, could you confirm your address by mailing me. I think I still have it since I sent you the Judosmurf, but could be good if I can´t find it. DS.

The smurf is on his way now. I managed to post it before they empty the box.
And it could be good to place the booklet in a plastic bag during the journey, to protect it from getting wet.

Maureen,
maybe you could add the date behind the members, where the smurfs already been in the "hosting"-thread. Then everybody can see where it have been and where they could send it and like I did you could combine the shipping if you have plans on sending something to another member. Then we could adapt the route to this. If a member from for example Sweden wants a visit, it is no problem sending him back, eventhough he already left the country and have already been there.
And everyone who wants a visit by traveller smurf but maybe haven´t decided yet, could just jump along when the smurf is in the neighbourhood, right. And the other members could just enjoy the pictures from all over the world.
This will be great. Me and my kids, who wrote a greeting in the booklet ( and Ally draw a small smurfy painting
) can´t wait to see the pictures of him visiting your houses and countries all over the world.

I will add the arrival date next to the member's name (or if I am not around another Mod can do it for me)
I would however suggest we try send it to the next member on the list closest to us to keep the shipping cost low.
For example: It doesn't make sense if Tojo were to ship it to me..I ship it to Brad, who ships it to Ingo, who ships it to Rae, who ships it to Hilary ..if we could go Tojo - Ingo - Hilary - Brad - Rae- me..but that's just my suggestion..in the end everybody can ship it to whoever they want to as long as we keep track of it.
And yes...it would be great if more members get onboard as the smurf travels along

I agree Maureen,
we try to keep the journey as natural as possible( like a smurfy backpacker
), meaning the closest country, following your list. But could be some "detours" if more members join, right.

WT ( World Traveller or World Tour smurf) has safely and quickly arrived in Haren!!
Haren is in the north of the Netherlands, (see red arrow) just a few kilometers from Groningen, the nicest universitytown in Holland.

And with him came a lovely fake sunbather
Thanks André, he fits so well with my other sunbathers!
I won`t show the content of the booklet, it`s a nice surprise for the ones, who`ll receive it during this tour.
Tomorrow, I`ll make pics outside if the snowconditions allow it, (now snowing again) but certainly more pictures will follow!

I remember you said you wanted him when I showed a picture of a box with some kindersmurfs, fakes etc. long time ago.
So I thought he might suit you better than me.
It will be nice to see the pictures tomorrow.

That fake smurf is lovely!
Glad they all arrived safely with you Lia.
Looking forward to the photos. I didn't realise you lived so far north either! I suppose I could have looked at a map before.

Ok! Here we go!
I was busy with the pics all day, the weather changed a lot, from heavy fog till very sunny! And very cold, while I was in Groningen center, I had to change the batteries and my fingers were almost frozen.( minus 9 degr.)
It was not always possible to put the traveller on the pics, but at least, I tried.
The pictures are not perfect, due to weather and traffic, but they will give you some idea about where I live and there are some pics from my smurfs.
I start with the road from Haren to Groningen, first the very old little church in the mainstreet from Haren
