some questions

1-) Do you leave on the tags when you have bought brandnew smurfs??

2-) one of my sisters gave me a smurf with mirror today. I thought, I already had it, marked made in hongkong, but when I compared them, I noticed these strange feet. Is it worth keeping as a variation???
( or is it nothing special?)

I don´t keep the tag on the smurfs. The glue tends to get sticky??? And I don´t think they look nice with the tag. The information on the tag don´t say so much either( Only Schleich, articlenumber and the pricerange). I see the tag as a tool for the shop ( barcode), just to make it easy with the "register".

I would see the markings as the same on the second picture. If they are painted the same way and looks the same. But that is just me. :-? So faar I tend to look more at the marking than colours. This could change though???? But their is also a third way Lia. You could keep it in a box as a spare in case you loose one??? :D

1. I don't really care about the tags, and don't think they look that good on the smurfs... that said... I have not managed to get my selv to take the tags out of my smurfs yet. Don't know why, really. :-?

2. I don't care for markings, nor collect those, but some ppl do, so it's entirely up to you to decide if you want to keep him in your collection or not. :D

I have one with the same lines on Lia-however, I personally don't collect it as a variation!!!

I'm not that hardcore :)

I take the tags off Lia for reasons like Andre described, and those feet are nice too, but i'd be more interested in the country marking than the feet ! Just keep the smurf anyway :D

I do exactly the same too!

As for the lines on the feet, I personally keep those as a variation too. I have seen that a lot with certain smurfs :D

Lia,

I changed my mind. I don´t think you should keep it as a spare. Because I am not sure I have the hongkong-marked mirror-smurf. So I might want that one.  Just kidding Lia.

I take the tags off, too as it is so much easier to display them without them. And as mentioned, I really don't like the sticky residue either which seems to get worse over the years.

I collect markings, but if the only difference in the markings is the spot where the marking is, I consider it a double smurf. I have noticed though that in that case there usually is a slight color variation, so if that is the case I keep the smurf....But...I am one of those that looks for reasons to keep a smurf and hardly gets rid of any

I take the tags off too. :D I'd keep him Lia cos his feet are different. That may turn out to be important one day. :-D

I just had to be diffrent didn't I? I keep the tags on. For this reason 7 people responded that they take them off. In 20 or 30 years I think the tags will make them more valuablle. And while I have never really collected so I could make a profit, I always have known of the potential. Too bad I really didn't know what they would be worth today I would have 5 times what I have today.

Damn you Lia. :( ( I would probably have kept it also)

I have desided to go through my normalsmurfs for markings which I have not done before. So, with a little help from my daughter Edina, we put them up in articlenumber-order. And these are the spares I have not checked for the articlenumbers from 20001 to 20112.

I don´t expect to find anything rare but I am doing this tosee which ones I am missing. Now I just have to compare them with the ones I have in order already. :relieved:

We will see Lia. Maybe I find a mirrorsmurf from Hongkong. :o

How BIG is your house? Do you have enough room to display all André?

I have a small house Lia.

These have been in boxes. Most of these are probably the same. My guess is that I find maybe 20 with markings I don´t already have displayed or in the already "checked boxes" among these. If I start checking dots and paint I will probably have to keep more. But I desided to put them in order and have them in bags with maybe 5 articlenumbers in each, then it will be easier to check the markings when I buy new ones.

Unfortunatly I have to wait until my children move out until I can have everything displayed like you. :(

Look Lia,

Among the mirror smurfs-pile, only 2 versions.

Schleich-emblem and without( removed) Schleich emblem( probably sold by Bully???).

One them have a broken mirror. Seven years of bad luck for that smurf. :(

I understand André, but one day, you`ll have 3 extra rooms, right?:)

here are my mirrors, on top, the 2 hongkong versions.

Second row:
- marked pat
- marked with CNT sticker
- marked dupuis union
- marked minimodels industria argentina

below: a yellow Mexican and a polish mirror

in some ways, we collect different type of markings, I think 8-)

Those are lovely Lia, :-D

Now I have something to aim for, right. :relieved:

It is good going through the normalsmurfs, because it is a lot I don´t have and many of them are easy to find and not to expensive. :D

Like some hongkong and portugal smurfs.

it`s absolutely nice to do so.
Till now,I never cared so much for markings from the licensed smurfs, but by reading so much on the forum, I might start looking for more variations, because now I have a lot of extra space with one new cupboard :D
