I've been looking at my footballers & am confused. I'm trying to work out which are the old Footballers & which are the new...

I have 2 with the following markings (yellow shirt, red shorts, yellow socks, ball with black squares):-
Schleich, Peyo, W.GERMANY, CE, 1
Schleich, Peyo, GERMANY, CE, 4

I am assuming that these are 20416 New Footballers as they have the CE marking?

The other 2 that I have have the following markings (red shirt, yellow shorts, red socks):-
Schleich, Peyo, W.GERMANY, 4, red dot, plain white ball
Schleich, Peyo, MADE IN HONG KONG, 1978, 1, ball with black squares.

The first one I'd say was a 20035 Football but I'm not sure about the Hong Kong one. I didn't think that 20035 had the squares on the ball painted The ball looks to be the original & doesn't look like a repaint. Also it looks like the smurf was once glued to something, perhaps a sockel, as the front of the left boot is shiny as is the back of the right boot.

Can't take any photos I'm afraid as Mrs Tojo has run off with the camera

Not sure i am just trying to think logically.
But all numbers around 20416 are made in China and not HK anymore.
So that would say your HK is a 20035, even with black dots on the ball.

I have both of the versions with CE. Both are 20416.

For some reason cavity 1 and 4 are different. One of them have w germany and one only germany. But this is a moldthing and not a intentional marking. I would guess it is the same on the late 20035 since they used the same mold and they have the exact same marking except for the CE on the arm.
So peyo on the trousers and w. germany on the "butt". CE on one arm and schleich on the other. So the danish kicker with CE is a 20416-version.

The other ones you are describing is 20035. Both red dot and hongkongmarked.

The fact that the ball has the black squares is what confused me
