The human-sized smurf in the middle is probably the most rare one in his collection???

Well done Steve! :-D

Cheers everyone..I am sorry I couldn't share this with you all, but I signed an agreement that I wouldn't reveal anything until the book was published..I knew a year ago and had to keep it quiet from everyone

It all started with my appearance on the Graham Norton show 'Totally Saturday' (think Maureen posted a link to the youtube video).

Basically, the researchers from Guinness World Records saw the show and saw Graham pull out one of my Smurfs and say I had a collection of over 1,000 Smurfs. They contacted me the next day to say they didn't have a category for Smurf collecting! They said to me that they wanted to feature my collection.

Several emails, visits and photoshoots later - here I am in the Guinness Book..I know it's not the biggest collection out there, but they said 'records get broken as soon as the book goes to print'..so if any of you wants to be in the next book...go for it (just bear in mind it took me DAYS/WEEKS/MONTHS to put all my smurfs back into some sort of order)

It was an interesting experience, but not one I think I'd repeat in a hurry (I didn't even get a certificate lol) :(

Way to go, Steve :goldstars:

I wonder if anyone will challenge your record...I know it won't be me though :D I keep thinking of the record with the most number of people dressed as smurfs and how that got to be a big thing for a little while there.

Cheers Staci  I am sure someone will challenge the record, it's the nature of the book :) I wish them well if they do, I don't envy them taking everything out and putting it all back again :)
