Whilst google searching photos for graduation smurfette, I came across this photo on Flicker.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/paalia/2634002367/

If you look at the photo of this persons collection, you will see in the right hand of the photo there is a smurf with a brown hat of a different shape. There is also one in the croed. Does any one have information on these smurfs?

Do you mean the little one next to the Thanksgiving smurf? :-?

The one looking like this?

If not, can you crop it out of the picture and post it here?

Hi Moey
The one in the triangle is the one you show. The one in the hexigon is the one in question. Are they the same, because the eyes look differnet and the hat looks longer????

They look the same I think?? :-?

A funny thing not many collectors have noticed on this fake is that it many times is actually marked. They have Hongkong printed on the back. The larger softer ones I mean. Hard to see though. :D

Not easy to see Frank, but they many times are marked with Hongkong on the back. :D

When do you think they were made? Seems to be found sometimes in different collections. I think they are early fakes?? :-?

I think they are the same, Pierre :D

Haven't noticed the marking either, Andre, but will check mine when I have a chance :D

I have those smurfs too, but mine have no markings and I`m pretty sure, they are polish.

Lia,

Can you take a close picture on the back of the smurfs?

I mean the larger softer ones. Not the smaller harder ones with cavitynumber on the back of the head. These have no markings on the back.

There are a lot of variations of these fakes so there maybe are more than one markingvariation also??? :-? :D

I only have the small ones, from which only the red smurf has a cavitynumber.

I have a white smaller one with cavitynumber. The smaller ones can very well be polish and I think you are a better judge of that. The smaller ones are most likely made later.

The larger ones I have are more like the older toys made of soft rubber. Could of course be other variations of these too? :-?

I think they are not that rare in older collections?? :-?

I agree, Andre...I used to pick quite a few of them up when I bought older smurf lots on ebay and also found them on German fleamarkets

Here are the pics of my Grotestques. I examined them well, but unfortunetly they seem like they haven't got a marking at all. :-?
