On Gege`s website you can see a pic of the great Peyo biography I bought recently. My copy is the one which shows Peyo smoking and holding a Dupuis smurf between his fingers. :)

Great book, I have the other version (the cover with the drawing). The text is of course the same.

I just bought today a recent Johan and Peewit (with Smurfs) story, and it isn't bad, but still a far cry from the stories when Peyo was alive (both drawings and story).

I would love to read this book but I don't think there is an English print release of it...maybe Fram would know?

Let us know what you think Dominique and well done on getting a copy.

This Peyo biography is a must have.
It is only in french. It is still a must have even if you don't understand french.
It contains hundreds of very rare illustrations, rare photos and super complete info about all Peyo's work.
Must have, indispensable, essential.

Hi again,

I have just finished reading Chapter 3 !!! Talking about this book, I have to stick to barrufet. It is just magnificent!!! Both the text and the pictures are very interesting!!! :D You can easily follow each and every single step of him and the smurfs. :) He had been talented ever since he was a small boy. But I cried a river of tears when I read that Peyo`s dad died that young!!! :(

Hi Dominique, I am glad to hear you are enjoying the book, it certainly sounds like an interesting read. I have to admit, it has been a few year since I have read a biography but I think I might enjoy this one. :D

I love how they gave Peyo a blue face on that 2nd cover...very clever. :D

I think that it's great that you are really enjoying this book Dominique. I would love to read it as I am sure I would learn so much but there isn't a copy in English sadly. It's a shame as I am sure there are so many people who would love to read it but probably won't get the opportunity to.

If anyone thinsk there is an English print then please let me know.

Dyar

No, no translation available. Who knows, perhaps with the movie release in 2008?
Anyway, I'll try to expand the Wikipedia article on Peyo a lot in the next few months, but don't hold your breath 8)

Unfortunately Mr Dyar did not read the last part of Mr Fram's above post and subsequently passed out after 6 minutes we estimate.

We now encourage all people who post here to remember their responsibility to other forum members. One of the best ways to show respect when posting is by starting their posts with the words "Don't hold your breath..." instead of waiting to notify your fellow forum members at the very end where it may be too late.

If this is not possible to start at the very beginning with these rather crucial instructions can they please at least try to start the sentence with the words "Don't hold your breath..." and try to at least keep it in the top half of the message.

Research done overnight here in Sydney shows there are many very good reasons for not holding your breath for extended periods with the main one being it' just a rather silly thing to do.
