The Smurfs Dam & River

Hi all as david mentioned I was building a top secret model but as by the title of my post i think it kinda gave it away.
Anyways here are some pics, please excuse the little bits of foil you can see here and there lol. Hope you like it hehe

WOW you did an amazing job with the damn, it looks like it came right out of the tv show.. GREAT job!!
Did you only use foil? how did you get the paint to stick to the foil?

That is a great scene you have made Steve.
The smurfs look fantastic on it. I bet that must have taken a bit of work as the detail is wonderful. I love the bridges and the little track.
I have a project on the go at the moment too but I am not sure how it will turn out yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Excellent stuff once again, Steve.
Gerda, Steve was telling me he uses tissue paper (like paper towel I think) and wallpaper paste mixed together over the top. The foil makes it light and is easy to manipulate. He used newspaper underneath to help hold the shape too.
I've done the same kind of thing with papier maching too when I was working as an Art Teacher. But I used tissue paper and applied it to the foil by dipping it into a mix of Clag glue and PVA glue. Works a treat and its nice and light and easy to paint over.
