Pete from Mushroomvillage is an official seller for Schleich and has been for years, so if he posted them, I'd take that as an official announcement.

I am sure we will get better pictures soon :D

Schleicher told us that more smurfs would be released in May and that we can see them in the catalogs come January, so I am convinced these smurfs will be in the catalogs :D

Here is the thread in which he announces them
http://www.mushroomvillage.com/shroomro ... 5#post7735

One thing of interest...apparently, he was never offered the other five boxes which are released in January...this makes me think that they may only be released in Europe, just like the last five boxes were only released in the US back in the fall. :-?

Actually Moey I think he said he was not offered the other 5 that TRU got. He said that must have been a special purchase by target. Which he ment TRU. The boxed set of the movie Smurfs is due out in May the other 5 are due out in Jan.

I think they are great! Basing them on the movie smurfs I think these will sell well to with the release of the movie. Can't wait to get this set next year.

Great news! Of course they are looking quite different from our used smurf molds, but I think I like them nevertheless. :D

Brainy, Gutsy and Grouchy nearly look the some way as in these pics.

I just noticed that the re-releases are only in the boxes on the website, so I don't think we will get those individually

Not to be too negative here but the new smurfs are ugly! :(

I must agree im not keen on them. I prefer the older cuter cartoon look of the others. Hopfully it will only be these ones that are taken from the movie and after that will go back to the old style of smurfs. :D

Smurfy regards
Steve :D

Good to have bigger photos of them :D

I don't think they are too bad, I do especially like Papa, Gutsy and Brainy.
But Grouchy seems to have really big feet and Clumsy doesn't look very clumsy.

I have not found it so far, but on ebay you can also see a photo of the new prospect.

By the way: The German name of Gutsy Smurf is "Mc Tapfer".

That's funny, those are the three I don't like...they look too gnome like for me :)

I think Clumsy and Brainy are cute...and have kept some of their smurfiness, although I agree...Clumsy does not really look like Clumsy but more like a normal smurf.

The German name for Gutsy makes sense...I guess they had to add the Mc to make sure everybody knows he is Scottish :-?

I think Papa looks better in these pictures (the mouth is a little more obvious). I liked Grouchy before but this picture looks a little off. I like Clumsy. Although they look different I'm glad schleich has made figures that can be displayed along side the regualr smurfs so if nothing else we'll have a little slice of smurf history.
