Today, I went to the local toy shop. The owner there knows I collect Smurf and he said that Schleich will be releasing new soccer Smurfs for the World Cup. He knows of three new figurines, painted in the colours of Belgium and Holland, and also a new released Devil Smurf (the Belgium national 11 are called the Red Devils). They are to be released around may.

I believe it's the same marketing project as the 2012 Olympic boxed Belgium specials, and since Belgium is among the number 1 seeded teams (although I don't know why) that explains the interest.

I have seen a print of the Belgian soccer Smurf, it looks great. I saw it in that shop so I couldn't bring it.
The Smurf is based on figurine 20454. He is painted in the Belgian outfit.
The Dutch soccer Smurf and the little devil I didn't see in a picture.
The owner told me possibly other countries can be revealed, Germany, France, Brazil, only to be released in their country.
He didn't know yet himself but he expected it to be.
