Yesterday I got a football smurf from America with a baseball batter pal. When I examined the football smurf more closely, I realised he was significantly different from my other football smurfs. The others which were definitely bought in the UK, probably from National Garages, all have detachable footballs. The American one has his football molded to his foot. The hexagons on his football are also smaller than the European ones. His colours are stronger and he's made in Hong Kong. Has anyone come across this before? Is it quite normal and just an American variation? Here are some pics with his English cousin to compare - USA on the left and UK on the right.

Yes I noticed about the stuck ball before, the hard way. I bought a couple cheap from the States thinking I could re-use the balls on some UK ones who had that had lost their's over the neighbour's fence. But then when I got the ones from US the balls wouldn't come off

I hadn't noticed the different sized pattern though. I'll have to take a look at mine again

I am almost certain that the Balls of the Hong Kong & Wallace Berrie Versions of 2.0035 Footballer are not a part of the Figure...they are Glued On.

If someone can Prove that the Ball is Molded on to the Figure, that would be a Smurfiation not know to anyone I know.

Hello to all our fellow Smurfers,

I forgot on the last post...

If you look at the Balls on either Version, you will see the SEAM running from Side to Side of the Figure. If the Ball was Molded On, the SEAM would Line Up with the Center of the Figure (from Navel to Nose).

Thanks for the Picture...mine in is a WORD Doc.

Actually looking closer at the Figure, the SEAM runs down the Sides of the Smurf, Spliting him Front to Back...so it is not possible to Mold the Ball and the Figure together...especially when the Ball has it's own Seam.
