Remember me and cheesy have the chorleiter with grey rock?

Well my grey rock was definitely glued to something in the past as there is glue residue on the bottom.

Cheesy's is still glued to the blue platform and has a different shaped baton.

Well here is a pic from Andy's amazing site.

Mystery solved!! He is on top of a music box!! Ours have clearly come off.

Note to Tine: it appears the baton is the normal one- do you have any spares?

Thanks for working out the mystery Martin..another smurfy case solved :)
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

That is very intersting, Martin...Good Detective work :D

I am still confused though why this variation is pictured on the catalog poster as a single smurf when he only appeared on top of the music box :-?

I don't think he did just appear on the box Maureen. There was clearly a run with the grey rock for this box but I'm sure there were a few without. This is a great hobby!

.... as I wrote you ....many thanks for finding out.
But one remark . I think that this is not the correct base because this would be the only one "Spieluhr" where the base and the cover have different colors. So I suspect it could be faked for the base :-S But who knows :-? :-? :-?

I don't think that baton belongs to the smurf though :-?

I agree the baton does not belong to the smurf but the bottom part of the base is the right color. On the other somebidy swapped it with a white one.

Music boxes were not shipped with 2 separate colors for top and bottom.

Cheers,

David
