Hi everyone,

I talked about the halberds in the guardvariationthread.

For me many of these loose accessories shown in the DSK 4 were never sold with smurfs. They are many times however genuine accessories, but used for other figurines.

I have shown pictures of the Kwakitems, carriage for farmlife, smurfhouse used for farmlife, jerry-sticks, paddington-cars etc.

When Schleich declared themsleves bancrupt in january 1987 they had to cut costs. Also because of the decreasing demand for smurfs, as said before, 25 millions unwanted smurfs were left on the shelves in Helikofen( that is alot!!!), and therefore Schleich used many of the accessories for other figurines they could sell.

Here is another picture showing what I mean. Here you see the Grisu-figunies sold with smurf accessories. :-D

If a seller got these he most likely would remove the red nozzle from the grisu( I don´t think that many Grisucollectors exists??? At least not compared to smurfcollectors) and add it to the fireman instead and get a rare super smurf fireman!! :D

My guess is that most of the accessories shown as testversions are rather sellers variations??? :-?

In this case the red nozzle also was sold with the smurf-fireman, but maybe only as a promo??? :-?

Hi Andre

I agree in a lot of things............ but the snoopy kajak is really different then the green one for smurfs.
Here is the red and blue "testversion" of the kajak.
Since the quality of the kajaks are very very poor i don't believe they are real.
The red material has almost the same colour as the red from the little mushrooms, same for the blue.
I think it's more likely that this one is made during the lunch break...............

I think they look fantastic Frank!

I will try to find the red kayak, because I like it anyway since it is a genuine Schleich accessorie. :-D And I will also put a smurf in it, because I think it looks good. Just like with the Kwak-items. They still are rare Schleich-items made for a short while. :-D

I think the Snoopy kajak was made for 2-3 years so maybe the material could be slightly different like on the smurfkajaks??? :-?

Hi Andre

The snoopy kajak is from a far more better quality then the red and blue with the smurf in. Also he is bigger, well more wider.

The markings on the snoopy kajak .......

Thanks Frank,

That means that it is easy to spot that it is wrong kajak. Was that one always made in Hongkong?

Hi Andre

I am not a snoopy expert.
One day i was at a fleamarket and saw a few snoopy's, the one with the kajak was one of them.
Just to see the differences i bought that one.................

The marking is interesting...this would mean it's not a Schleich product, wouldn't it?

I like the different colored accessories and think they make a nice addition to any smurf display..but yeah, should never ever be confused with genuine smurf accessories :o

The Portugal kajak is a Schleichproduct but unmarked. All portugal ones are unmarked. Still Schleichmade. But the marking on the one Frank tells us are definatly not made for smurfs. Still could be Schleich??

But it could mean like with the smurfs. :-? What I mean is that it could have been made in Hongkong for the US market also??? I believe Snoopy must have been pretty big there. And then the ones shown in the german catalogues could have been made in Portugal. This off course could be completly wrong since I have no idea how the sales were for Snoopy-figurines and as said before I am no Snoopy collector.`???? This I have no idea about. Just try to think big!!

But just like you say Maureen I like these colourful accessories alot and want many of them in my collection. Just don´t like when sellers tell they are very rare testvariations and want very high prices for them!! :banghead:  :-D

The prices could off course be correct if they were sold a short time and are rare??? :D

Well, Snoopy, or rather the Peanuts are very big over here (there probably exists a larger collector's market in the US than for smurfs)..lately it seems that Hallmark is doing most of the products though (at least the Hallmark store was full of Peanuts collectibles during the Christmas Season). I never paid any attention to those things but when I go to the fleamarkets this year I will look for peanuts stuff as well..and might find the accessories.

Will keep you updated. :D

I also wants to tell you that the snoopy-skies are marked like the kajak with Snoopy-markings like 1958 66. Those are no smurfskies. Mostly though the accessories are unmarked.

BUT if you have accessories marked Peyo in different colours they probably was not used for other figurines.

When Schleich started to use the accessories for Kwak, they removed the peyo-marking from the mold. But at the same time still making the accessories for the smurfs. The reason was that they then could use the accessories for other characters. So the farm, windmill, boat, gate, swing, stove, bed, car, etc etc etc were all made without peyo during these years.

I don´t think Schleich would have sold accessories with peyo-marking with other characters, just like they would not have sold accessories with snoopy-markings with smurfs??? :-? :D
