Hi again,
recently I got a lot from UK with the mustard dot super-skier I was looking for, to use on my National display from march 1979. As I told you I wanted to use smurfs from around that time then and I am pretty sure they used mustard dot smurfs then.
But Tommo pointed out a interesting fact that he got early variations of some smurfs as a child. He is off course 100% correct.
This is from that thread:
"2.0006. Brainy with red glasses
2.0024: Lantern with red lantern
2.0031: Postman with holly on letter
2.0035: Soccer with red ball, orange shirt
2.0036: Hangglider with painted patches on wings
2.0041: Hiker with yellow flower
I'm thinking that my dad must have got most of the smurfs between 1978 and 1981 with a couple from 1982. Do you think with some of the colour variations that they only did them for a very short while in each country? For example, would the hiker only have had the yellow flower for 1978 and then a change of colour to red in 1979? Same with the Hangglider: patches painted in 1978, unpainted 1979? I was thinking about the lantern smurf (2.0024) which was released in 1977?, the reason I have the red version from my childhood is because my dad got the later colour variation release (red) in 1978 onwards, and not the original yellow one from when it was first released in 1977?
