This topic might be covered earlier already, but I didn't find the answer. I have lots of questions that have come up on the Finnish smurf forum:

Why is it that these smurfs have the same number?
- 2.0496 papa Conductor
- 2.0496 smurf in bunny suit

and

- 2.0548 Smurf with pumpkinhead
- 2.0548 Blue icehockey player (and why is a variation been given it's own number?)

And why is there empty numbers between smurfs? Why didn't the producers just add numbers while making new smurfs? Why skip some numbers?

And has anyone ever counted the exact number of smurfs and supers (meaning smurfs that have a number of their own)? How much are there? I know I could do this myself but if somebody has already counted them...?

Huh, many questions. I hope (and know) somebody here knows the answers. I'll be waiting.

there are 453 normals and 77 supers which equals 530 smurfs, one should at least have, in order to complete his collection.

To be honest, I'm afraid, I can't help you on any of the other questions left. But hopefully, anyone else might be able to help out on that.

On Mushroom Village there is a printable collectors list which is very useful with the numbers of smurfs. It lists them all in order of numbers and does say on the skipped numbers inbetween that either no smurf was produced for that number, or it was made but the decision was made not to bother producing more than the test variation itself.......

Also I have listed everything on my site according to the dsk numbers which are the same as the collectors list on petes if that helps.

Steve: I know many places that have picturelists of smurfs but has anyone counted them? I have tried but I get mixed up somewhere between the list.

Ritter_Schlumpfenherz: the list on the site counts (at least on the normals) the different variations to the list. I kind a want the amount of numbers given to smurfs.

I find this list usefull too. I've downloaded it to my computer & check off the smurfs I've got. When the new smurfs come out & Pete updates the checklist I just copy the 8 new ones from it onto my list using cut & paste.

OK, did the counting myself.
The old numberserie 20001-20232 which makes 233 smurfs. The new generation 20401-20548 = 148 smurfs. EXCEPT that numbers 20480-20481, 20500, 20507-20510 ar missing (minus 7 smurfs). And 20496 is doubled (plus 1)

232+148-7+1 = 374 figures.
