Martin,
I am not going to ask if the offer came from you.
Actually I would say that is cheap if it is a one of a kind Märklin 23 year old mint trainset.
Let´s hope someone very rich can buy it and put it in a museum for everybody to watch. Like the Double Eagle dollar-coin printed 1933.
But seriously. In the beginning of this thread we talked about that Schleich could bring this idea alive. If they developed this train together with Märklin, it would be very unlikely that they could bring this idea alive again.
Let´s hope for a new similair train. For me it don´t have to run on electricity. It could only be like the snailwagoon, but a trainset would be nice.

What a shame that it isn't in a museum so that people could see it

Maybe Martin can buy this for a smaller amount.
Have you ever seen this Martin?
I found it on a smurfposter. The poster is from the same year the airplane was released, so it could be a first version or maybe not. Looks nice though.
On the same poster the brown chain forklift is and the red flower and we know these exists, don´t we?

As long as its about smurfs I always listen.
Regarding soccer, I may close my ears.
But I loved the Torres-picture though.

Hi guys.
Andre don't whatever you do talk about football with beers: you will be put off the game for life.....(Everton)
Bill Shankly the great old Liverpool manager said that "if Everton were playing in my back garden I'd draw the curtains"!!!!!
Yes I saw that plane only about 1 month ago: it looks like the tricycle guy with a scarf....
If you look closely with a magnifying glass you will see that a lot of these smurfs are Musters. This is not surprising as it is a promo poster so the best smurfs were used. It is the same in the white catalogue "schlumpfe" made by Schleich-they are all musters I think in that....

Very nice Graham,
but it was another one. And it was not Torres on the picture, just his name on the shirt.
I think Martin might have got it from you?????

Wow!!!
Thanks for posting these very useful information, André and Martin.
Too bad that Märklin is bankrupt., but I sincerely hope what Andre posted. This item belongs to a toy museum, and I'd highly appreciated it to see it there someday.

Maybe 2011 is a good years for the smurfs. Just received the latest Papercutz edition. #6 The Smurfs and the Howil.
Guess what... the Smurf Train is featured in the book as a mini full length story.. The Smurf Express. So maybe , just maybe Schleich will see fit to produce it,
or we might have a chinese company seeing the gap.

It would be incredible if someone produce the train wouldn't it.
I'm sure it would be cheaper if it came from China.
