I asked several collectors, former collectors and dealers for these blisters and usually receive approximately the following response:

These blisters we know, are common blister packs, so they were not specifically made ​​for Smurfs, but Schleich here has packed all sorts of characters in the mid-80s.
The reason was that not every retailer would have a bulk on the sale table, but has hung the product onto the hooks in the toy walls. In particular, the large department store chains.

Schleich offered then a whole smorgasbord of various cartoon characters on it. In fact, all Smurfs assortment of then have been packaged in it. These blisters were made ​​a few years.

I personally believe that many people tearing up these trivial packaging and disposed immediately.
With the Super Smurf packaging that is of course another matter.

I definitely agree...a lot of people threw the packaging away...I used to throw the boxes of the super smurfs away which resulted in me having quite a few super smurfs but no boxes until I realized the value of the boxes

Something similar also happened in Canada where some of the more recents smurfs were sold on the cards below..so the explanation certainly makes sense to me...and the smurfs still in those blisters are some nice collectibles for us now

I must say a big thank you to my father Andreas. When I was young I could not understand.
He has combined them and each packaged in an envelope. Today they are in mint condition. If he had not anticipated...

That's an interesting topic, Benny!!! (Never seen this yellow blisters before!!!) To be honest, I haven't got a clue of the total number that was released, but they must have been released in the 1980's. I only got a ALF figurine in blisters dating from 1988 that I bought it last year at a fleamarket and some of the applause smurfs in blisters.

Well, since my bedroom was really small back then, it was a matter of space and me and my parents threw away the boxes of any of the supers. But then I realized that the boxes were important, I tried to focus on finding a super missing the box, so that I could display that and finding at least one with the box,because of the value.

I think many of us know these stories. There is never enough space! Especially if you collect the "big" packaging (smurf castle) or the dealer displays... you know.

I heard some news about the yellow blisters.
Karstadt, a German department store chain has given them in order in 1984.
Schleich has established this blisters exclusively for Karstadt!
They have planned to release all of the Smurfs at that range in 1984 in these yellow blisters.
After only 12 different Smurfs, the contract was dissolved by Karstadt for unknown reasons.
Therefore only 12 different Smurfs should be availble in these yellow blisters.
Unfortunately, I don't know currently which 12 Smurfs.
So there are only a few of these blisters, as they only 1984 were available for a short time in Germany.

Then it also was the first time Smurfette with baby was sold in Germany with german markings. Because in the Schleich german catalogue you could buy it first time in 1985.

Maybe the 12 smurfs could have been the german smurfs with 1983 yearmarking but first shown later in german catalgues, meaning 1985 or later??

It's not shown in the german dealer catalog , but in the small collector's catalog.

I did not check the booklet and maybe the reason for the differences are that probably the dealer catalogues are made before the booklets???

Regarding the tracker I changed my mind after checking it.

I was reading Dyars website and it said that the german version of the tracker had 1983. But the ones I have are just the W Berrie molds with blocked W Berrie and HK markings so they most likely did not use that one in Europe 1984.

I just found the Tennis Player 2 (20 093) in the yellow blister on Tine's website. This contradicts our assumption.

Perhaps Karstadt has simply chosen any Smurfs, from which they thought they could be selling particularly well.

Schleich has also always re-issued these Smurfs, which could be sold very well (eg in smurf red car).
