My mother had a little surprise for me when I came back from school! The Schleich mini catalgue 2008 and my first 2008 smurf!!! The papa in tuxedo!

Image

There is nothing very special to say about him, just that his tuxedo is in a matt black, his shoes in a very shiny black.

There are a few photos of the smurf, his markings and a great picture that is inside the catalogue. :D

By the way: As every year I won't buy the new smurfs in one buy, but will get one smurf for every month.

Great pics Simon :D I like the one from the catalogue.

Next week I'm on early shift so will take a trip into Frankfurt after work to see whether one of the department stores already has the new smurfs & I'll pick up some of the new mini catalogues too if they have them.

Thanks bunch for the photos, they're great.

That papa smurf gets wierder by the minute... matt black for the suit and bright black for the shoes!? :-?

Congratulations on getting your first 2008 set smurf Simon :-D
I was going to do the same thing and buy only one a month but it hasn't happened that way

I can see the Bottle and Smurfette 50 cake being bought for a lot of non-smurf collectors so I am really hoping this will encourage some UK stores to stock this set, but I think that may be wishful thinking :)

Well done Simon's Mum!! She certainly knows how to spoil a smurfer! :D

Thanks for showing us the pics, Simon. As usual, I really appreciate them!

Good Job Mrs Simon's Mum.......nice to see the pic in the catalogue too Simon. I guess everyone will be getting their new smurfs very soon.

I still have to work out where to buy mine......once they are available everywhere I will sort something out.

Congratulations Simon on being the first one on here to get one of the new ones :-D

Since I can't stand the thought of having spare money I went ahead and ordered mine from an American Seller and I am looking forward to getting them

Great to see the 2008 smurfs have landed and that you have got your first one Simon. :-D

Nice to see the extra details on the bottle and the drum judging by the pics on Ebay. :D

Woo Hoo, can't wait for mine to arrive. :hyper:

I checked out the Schleich website yesterday & they have finally updated it to include the new products. What surprised me though is that there is no mention of the fact that smurfs are celebrating their 50th birthday

I just went to the internet to check the Schleich site after reading your post Tojo and there on my home page was a Quick Picks ITN 'Smurfs turn 50' video. So at least there are some people happily promoting this fact :-D :)

That sounds cool Sue, I'll have to look again. Maybe that's only available on the English version & that's why I didn't see anything :D

Hi Tojo. Maybe my post is confusing. I didn't get as far as the schleich website because I got sidetracked when I saw this; :)

Yep, you confused me totally Sue :) :) :)

My computer at work hasn't got Flash Player installed so I'll have to wait until I get home to try out the ITN link. You've got me intrigued now :)

I've just watched the video & loved it. It was nice to my big smurf's twin brother in the library too.

Happy Birthday Smurfs  :cake: :birthday: :balloons:
