Blue Cavern

Hi, once again I have a few questions.

1. Yesterday I got my school reports..Because of that I was given a few smurfs by my mother.
One of them is the Schönwald Mushroom smurf...

As you can see, the fir is green and not white...Besides there is some glue visible...I assume it is a fake...
The seller had also another Schönwald with the wrong fir colour, but the smurf even has the Duffner autograph...

2. I got my red and white kicker today...For me he looks like he is authentic as even the trousers are a bit yellowed...



Does anybody else here own/know this variation???

3. I have seen this smurf on ebay:

Never have seen the small normal smurf before. Any information?

Hi Simon, I think you are probably correct that the Schonwald is a faked earlier one. It looks like they have taken a later base, taken off the smurf and put an umbrella smurf on. The tree on the base should be white like you say. I think the first to be coloured green was the Tenorhorn smurf in July 2002, all ones after that have been green.

I like the look of your kicker smurf, he looks authentic..but it's difficult to say without seeing it in my hands.

regarding your kicker..

if it is a fake you have two possibilties.. I really to this check sometimes. I really scratch some color away at non visible places...
so in your case I would test if the trouser are black underneath ...
The second possibility is assume it is not fake and be happy (I also do that )quite often

I saw this auction also but at this time it was looking like a fake to me.. but maybe I was wrong

I had never noticed that with the differnet colour tree on the Schonwalds before. Great info. to have for the future Fortunately (or actually unfortunatley ) I haven't got hold of any of the earliest ones yet.

@Sue : the first series all had white fir trees on them. The second have green trees. This is clearly visible on the Schönwald 'certificates'.

I think this is very bad news if people are starting to fake these

Unfortunately I know of a few instances of fake Schonwalds already and looking at yours Simon, I am afraid I would agree this one does look fake.

It is an easy way of dodgy sellers making money as the earlier releases of these are now harder to find.

Always look out for the colour f the fir tree and any signs that the figure has been reglued.
