Hi Alan, I love your idea to try and get to the true figures, although it is a mammouth task. :clap2:

To be honest I am not sure a "definitive" list would be possible because what should or shouldn't be included.

For example, if the regular smurfs are counted and then mold differences are counted, would the the three smurfette figure be included or are these just the numbers being counted. Then promtional smurfs, are these counted as different figures if they have a different logo or not counted at all apart from those with different molds?

Do colour variations count and then country markings? We are still occasionally discovering new smurfs and there are others such as the skateboard smurfs where I am sure there were more than five available.

Also I would be interested to know all the sources where these numbers came from?

Sorry for all the questions and what may appear as negative points, it is just this is such a huge, maybe even immpossible task. We did look into making a guide of ALL smurfs a while back but gave up on the prject as it just got o huge. :D

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Rachel,

The Purpose of the Smurf Census was to identify the number of different 2" PVC Smurf Figures (Including Mold Differences) that were made by Schleich, Bully or any others that were sanctioned by Peyo / IMPS.

It is for the 2" PVC Smurf Purests, who are not interested in everything Smurf.

We have been asked so many times, how many Smurf Figures are there?
This is our answer.

Anyone can extend this Census to suite their own needs. It is only a tool to help the collector.

Questions are the way we learn new Smurfy things.

Who says there are only 3 2.0034 Smurfette Molds?

Happy Smurfing :dogrun:
