Hi All; I just discovered that I have this Smurf. I must have had it for a long time. Its an Ice Lolly with a sign. I think it is suposed to be a Schlumpfhausen Ice lolly but I am not sure. The stickers have been removed if it is. Here's a Pic. Bill

It looks like it was the Scholler promo and not the Schlumpfhausen promo

Hi Bill!
The Scholler flag should look like this:

And the Schlumpfhausen is on a yellow flag:

Thanks for the pictures, Stace :D

Bill, I don't have the Schlumpfhause promo yet, but my understanding is that the material of the flag is yellow.

The Scholler promo has a white material flag (like yours) with a the blue sticker on it. The sticker is very easily removed, which I suspect happened to yours.

Hi Staci and Maureen; Thank you for all the great info. What I don't understand is Where did I get it? How long have I had it? I don't expect you to answer all that. I just can't believe I didn't know I had it. Bill

Ther is also this one.
Extremely rare.
This is the original, not the computer-made one on the DSK.

I don't think there is any particular information about this promotional smurf but some general information..and I would assume that the promo was released around the same time :D

I can help you with that!

If you check the markings on this smurf with the hole in the hand, it does not have the yearmarking. The year added later is also 1978. But Schleich added this first 1980 in their catalogue. I have all the catalogues in very high resolution on DVD( thanks Stefan) I can make very nice closeups on the smurfs.
Therefore I also can give you picture proof for this!! :-D The first picture of the ice lollysmurf has a hole in the hand. And as you all understand there would have been no point in having a hole in the hand if not any accessorie should have been in that hole.

I am 100% sure the first variation of the icelollysmurf was the Schöllersmurf in Germany in 1979. It was not made before 1978, because then the mold would have had the emblem. So 1979 is a very good and accurate year for the Schöllersmurf!! :D

The reason for the promos are, if I would guess, this: Bully had the rights for the smurfs in germany before 1980. But it seems Schleich could sell figurines as promos many times. Peyo also wanted Schleich to get the license back already in 1978 so he would not have disagreed if it was legally possible with the Bully license. Many of the smurfs made these years seems to have been used as promos, not only for National and BP, but also ASS and Schöller for example.

this mold was changed in 1980 and the hole was "removed" but Schleich still sold the ones made with the hole for a while after this. In the 1980 catalogue the hole is gone on the icelollysmurf.

As with the nationalemblem cleaner they took the variations they had for the pictures when they did not have the new variation yet. So for the cleaner they used the nationalemblem one when the picture was taken for the catalogue. Same with the icelolly but in this case it was very easy just to remove the flag before taking the picture. :o :D

I think the icelollymarkings also gives us the order these were made.

As you see there are 2 markingvariations with the hole in the hand.

1. First variation. All markings on heals. Hole in hand.
2. Second variation. Moldnumber and W germany under the toes. Hole in hand.
3. Third variation. Made around 1980. Same marking as 2 but the year 1978 was added and the hole was removed from the hand.
