Hi again,

Maureen asked me if I could give her all the articlenumbers Bully used, so if wanted it is possible to have them separate from the Schleich ones.

I thought there could be more collectors wanting this info so I will give it to you all.

And one of the new things you might not have known before is when Bullystarted using their new mold for Astro and Smurfette and also changed the articlenumbers for these. I will give you all this information later today. With numbers for house and other smurfitems.

Just have to make dinner first for my children. My own meatballs and spagetti, and wine for me!! :D :eat: :wine:

And first I will add this picture from the year Bully started. Klaus Volkmar left Schleich in 1973, so no Bullysmurfs made before this!! :o :D

1974

The years I add are the years the smurfs were sold by Bully.

So these are the first smurfs Klaus Volkmar made when he started and these I believe were sold 1974. I removed the ones I think he sold in 1975. :-D The french names they started to use in 1976, but I add them already here. Otherwise I have add the Bully-german name.

All smurfs Bully sold in 1974 and 1975 can be found with only peyo marking or no marking at all.

1010/1 Kicker( Fussballer)( footballeur)
1010/2 Jungle ( Wilder)( Schlips)

They also got all the old Schleichmolds and started selling these also.

1976

This year Bully started with the handetched Bullymarking on all new smurfs. They had already started with this on the house.

Also added Gargamel, Johan and Pewitt.

And also added their own handetched variations of Astro and Smurfette instead of the old Schleichmolds.

New figurines:

1010/18 Handstand ( handstand, acrobate)
1010/19 Cushion ( Sitzender, Schtroumpf assis sur son Schtroumpf)
1010/20 Present ( Überrashung, farceur)
1010/21 Axe ( Holzhacker, bûcheron)
1010/22 Traveller ( Wanderer, voyageur)

1011/1 Gargamel ( Gurgelhals, Gargamel)
1011/2 Johann

1010/24 Clown
1010/25 Skier ( Skifahrer, Skieur)

1978

This I believe was the year when Schleich got all the molds back so in 1978 Bully had no Schleichsmurfs for sale.

Because Bully had to give back the old molds to Schleich they had thier own variation of Astro and Smurfette still with the old Schleicharticlenumberserie. But since they skipped that serie this year they added these 2 molds after the other ones this year. :D

Bully also started their new factory this year and got better markings in their molds. In 1976,77,78 Bully changed the marking alot, I beleive this could have been because they just started with the new injectionmachines and improved the marking all the time. :-? :D

If you check the Schleichcatalogue you see that Schleich added Smurfette after all the molds with smaller face. So I believe Schleich got Smurfette and all the other molds back before making their own new smurfs in 1977/78.

New Bullysmurfs in 1978:

1010/26 Conductor ( Dirirgent, chef dórchestre)
1010/27 Tennis player
1010/28 Bookworm ( Moral, moraliste)
1010/29 Oboist ( flöten, avec une grande flûte)
1010/30 Sledgehammer ( mit grosse hammer, avec une grand marteau)
1010/31 Injured ( verletzer, blessé)
1010/32 Ballerina
1010/33 Head cook ( Chefkoch, chef-cuisinier)
1010/34 Cake ( Torten, avec un grand gateau)
1010/35 New Bully Smurfette
1010/36 New Bully Astro

I believe Bully also started with boxes for the smurfhouse and display this year.

And changed some articlenumber.

House: from 1010/H to 101099
Display: from 1000 to 1001-1003 depending on colour.
Minismurf: from 1010/K to 101090.

Could be this year or the year before they started with markings on the house and the display. :-?

100011 black train.
100012 orange train.
100021 Green wagon.
100022 Yellow wagon.

1979

I don´t have a picture of the smurfs Bully sold 1979, but I believe these were the ones:

1010/37 Fisherman
1010/38 Archer
1010/39 Pupil
1010/40 Pirate
1010/41 Scot

And last this is my guess:

All other Bullymolds marked with small Bullymarking were molds Bully never sold themselves but already had made in 1979 or before ( but never sold). Bully lost these molds as part of the courtdecission in end of 1979. Schleich sold all these after an agreement with Bully. But I could be wrong about the articlenumbers 1979 and the last guess??? :-? :D

That is correct Martin,

both astro and Smurfette were made in 1975, thanks for remindning me!! :D I should know this since I have written this before in all my threads?? :-?

So it could have been like this and probably was:

Bully sold their variation already in 1976 of both these smurfs.

BUT because they had to give all Schleichmolds back in 1978 they gave these new articlenumbers in 1978.

Great Martin!! I forgot the markings.

But this proves that 1978 was the year Schleich got the molds back from Bully and Bully no longer sold the old Schleichmolds.

I will change the information to the correct one. :-D

I changed it so now it should be correct.

If something else seems strange let me know, that is why I write it here, so I will get everything right!! :-D

I also added that only the smurfs sold ( not made( molds made approx. the year before, like with Schleich today))in 1974 and 1975 can be found without marking and with only Peyo marking.

Could be news for some of you and maybe something other collectors already knew???

For me this connection, promotion vs paintvariation, was something I did not know before!! :-D So check tomorrow and I will post pictures regarding year, marking and colour of this!! 8-)
