Hi together,
I will show you scans of the
MAFI 1984 dealer catalogue, the former smurf distributor for France. I scanned all the smurf relevant pages. Unfortunately I had to restrict the size and especially the resolution.
(If someone wants to better resolution should ask.
)
Now for the catalog: Shown are some pictures which have been known from the Schleich dealer catalogs.
There are also many pages with very interesting pictures, such as the french stands, key chains, MAFI displays, puzzles, etc.
But see for yourself:
smurfy wishes
Benny
PS: The MAFI catalog of 1985 will follow tomorrow, it is very difficult to scan all pages, customize and post them...

Great pictures Benny!
The things I noticed is that the pictures are mostly the same as the german catalogues. But I see that they added 20153 ( santa smurfette) as a normal and not only as a Christmas variation!
The most intresting things with these catalogues for me are the playsets.
We all have seen the playsets 40009 and 40019 and know these exists.
But the cottages 40016 and 40017 were also sold as playsets with a smurf inside. In this case they only used a sticker on the boxes and did not make and new boxes like for the large house- and windmill-playsets.
These stickers are possible to see in 1985 Mafi catalogue I think.
By the way, is page 8 the same as in the german catalogues?
Also notice that the treestump playset was sold both with smurfs and without. As I wrote about before they used a sticker in this case also. I have had boxes of this playset both with and without sticker and the "garnie" in this playset was the 3 smurfs pictured on the outside of the box.
There is also a Farmplayset with number 40022 but I have never seen any box and have no idea if it only contained smurfs and had a sticker?? Or if it had a larger box and also accessories( like furnitures)???
I did not know about the 3 pensets. Are they the same as the ones sold by W Berrie in US 1982 and 1983?

First the pensets. Yes, even MAFI sold the pensets made in Hong Kong by W.Berrie.Co. However, only 3 of them.
- W.Berrie.co sold 4 different, as you can see in the W.Berrie.Co dealer catalogs.
- MAFI imported the pensets from Hong Kong. Its printed on the MAFI packaging.
- The difference is the packaging and the markings on the pensets.
- For MAFI pensets: the markings are always cast.
I have all three possible pensets and it's all the same.
- In each penset of W.Berrie.Co the markings are handetched!
Just look at the pictures.

Hi André,
By the way, is page 8 the same as in the german catalogues?
Thank you for your good eyes, I had forgotten Nr. 8, now everything is adjusted and page 8 is now available.
But I see that they added 20153 ( santa smurfette) as a normal and not only as a Christmas variation!
Like I said: very good eyes!!! You're right. They just No. 53 on a blue stone added. Very quietly! I don't know why at the moment.
We all have seen the playsets 40009 and 40019 and know these exists.
Thats right? Both of them exist really!
Nr. 40009 with older stuff (like pictured on the box) and later then with a white label and some newer stuff!
But the cottages 40016 and 40017 were also sold as playsets with a smurf inside. In this case they only used a sticker on the boxes and did not make and new boxes like for the large house- and windmill-playsets.
Also right. But André I personally never seen 40016 with the sticker and the smurf! (I think the Nr. 40616 which is written in the catalog page Nr. 21 is not correct).
Also notice that the treestump playset was sold both with smurfs and without. As I wrote about before they used a sticker in this case also. I have had boxes of this playset both with and without sticker and the "garnie" in this playset was the 3 smurfs pictured on the outside of the box.
I think its the same with the combi-sets 40701 - 40704 (which are shown on page Nr. 26).
They simply stuck red, French sticker on the printed label.
MAFI produced no new packaging for the four combi-sets.
There is also a Farmplayset with number 40022 but I have never seen any box and have no idea if it only contained smurfs and had a sticker?? Or if it had a larger box and also accessories( like furnitures)???
I have never seen or heard something about it.

Thanks for the pictures Benny,
And this goes also very well with the french supersmurf-boxes made in Hongkong. So then my theory about when they were sold could be correct. Late 1984 or 1985 could be correct time for the "super schtroumpf"-boxes.
These boxes look very similair to them.
Do you agree?

Benny,
do you have any idea if the molds are the same?
Strange that they have handetched markings on the Mafi ones? Blocked markings on any? Different size on the base??
