The last smurfs made by Bully

At first I thought that Bully never manage to sell any of the last 16 smurfs they made in 1979. :-D

But thanks to Benny, who found these pictures on another smurfsite, we can see that at least they managed to send in these ads before they lost the rights for the smurfs in 31st of December 1979.

The picture of the last 8 smurfs is from an ad dated december 1979. And as you see they show colourvariations that I don´t think ever was sold. So the last 8 smurfs maybe did not get to production before Schleich got the molds and sold these in their catalogue for 1980.

Anyway it is very nice to see these smurfs together with the bully figuren emblem as I know have of almost all the other Bullysmurfs. Except the ones sold in spring 1979. Smurfs 20101-20105. :D

Hi Andre

Some of those Bully's are testversions i guess..................
I had the change to buy the diver, but it wasn't pvc but plaster and some pieces were already broken of.
And the price ........................................

I think that , just like in the Schleichcatalogues, they put the smurfs they have ready for the poster. Not necessarily the variation they then first sold. As said this we have seen many times in the Schleichcatalogues and on posters.

I think Bully might have manage to produce the last 8 smurfs they made but it could also be that Schleich was the only company selling those smurfs. ?? :-?

To me it seems the smurf you have and also the lovely ones Christy have were made just before Bully lost the license and therefore never made it to production. At least the ones that are completly new molds. :-?

Do you think that could be correct Frank?

And do any of you have any dates for those plasters or wax smurfs? Christy?

Hi Andre

Sorry don't got any production dates.................
Most of these testversions look like the ones that went into production.
Only a few are looking different.

I have seen also some testversions from Tintin and Gaston.

You are correct Frank,

they could have been made during many years, just that they did not get into production. Of course they just could have dropped them because of other reasons than loosing the license! :D
