Forgive me if there's another topic yet about this smurf, I didn't find it...
This is one of the 4 smurfs my wife brought from het parent's home 15 years ago when we started living together.
She doesn't remember where it came from ; her parents had a toy store earlier but as it is a promo smurf she (or her parents or one of her brothers) might as well got it as a present from a bank.
Before we really started collecting smurfs I was interested what kind of smurf this would be, and looked on the internet.
It was hard to find information about it
I posted a question about it on a forum and also contacted a collector.
First, when I heard about the value of it, I thought of selling it later.
Especially in the first period we started collecting smurfs ; I looked at the volksbank smurf bank and saw a bench of other smurfs that we could buy for this
On the fair last year I spoke with a few persons about it.
Some said : "well, it's worth 120 euros in the catalogue but I wonder if you would get that for it".
There was another person which sold it (but without the key) for 120 euros I heard.
I didn't see it myself, I guess it was sold before we were on the right place.
Anyway, I'm not interesting in selling it anymore.
But when I look for smurfs on the internet I never see it for sale and wonder if it's such a rarity?
When I visit websites from other collectors I usually look in their collection and (untill now) never found it.
I wonder if there is anyone else here with the smurf bank?
Also if there are differences.
Our bank has no markings at all.
I wonder why there is no marking of Volksbank or other markings.
In the catalogue I noticed the key is originally attached on the top of the bank ; would that be an elastic string or either a "cord"?
On what occasion or with which product the Volksbank gave this smurf bank to people?
A lot of questions LOL
Greetings from little Belgian smurfette
