I won a Syd with a bid

I won this Syd with one of the Spanish signs this afternoon which I was really pleased about......not sure Syd will be happy sharing his bachelor cottage with another one but.....who cares what he thinks
I also received my Spanish garden furniture playset today which I was really happy about as I didn't think I would have one of these so soon after seeing how nice they are on the forum recently. On the packaging it says "Made in Spain No Toxico".....I was wondering whether these are part of the Comics No Toxico range but I guess saying made in Spain and No Toxico is probably just a general marking/description and the packaging also has copyright Peyo so I decided they really aren't anything to do with the CNTs. The smurf that comes with this set is interesting cos it looks like the Sunbather with his arms behind his head except it has shoes. I am hoping I will find some more of the different sets in this series as they are something a bit different which is always nice to get.
I guess if you have to get up and go to work on Mondays, then receiving smurfy packages kind of makes it almost worthwhile.

Hi, Dyar!!!!!!!!Congratulations for your new smurf and set!!!!!!!!!!
It´s the same set-garden I have and I sent to attomb some photos of another spanish-non toxico set ( well, I´m not sure if "spanish-non toxico" appeared in the packaging...more than 20 years ago
)
A lot of years ago (22-24 years), my parents brought to me five differents Syd Smurf from Germany...Probably they are homemade, but in that years there were not so many collectors, somit´s difficult to me to think that the seller tried to lie my parents...I think they were really cheap:I will send you a photo: syd carrying a red thunderbolt; syd carrying a red ladder; syd carrying a yellow "¿cuspidor?"...
Bye from Spain

I think know the ones you mean Pitufo....I have a picture of possibly all of them in a book I have here ("Smurfs Around the World") although the only Syds of these I have are a few of the road sign ones....anyway here is a pic, let me know if these are the ones you mean. If they are then I think it's excellent that you have some of them as they are aren't that easy to find these days and are always very popular when they do appear.

Your having a nice day Dyar.
Great win with the signbearer, maybe you can tell Syd he is only staying for the World Cup?
Regarding the No Toxico marking, I *think* this is the marking to show it is child safe - "non toxic" but I could be completely wrong.

I love that furniture set! its so nice... I am also tempted to take the sunbather smurf out of the package and check him out!
I did do that with a furniture set..that had a fireplace in the set..
the smurf that came with it was the laughing one.I think

Hi Attom!!!!!!!!!This week I send you an image of these smurfs...I PROOMISEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They arrived at home a lot of years ago, and I´m not sure where are they from...I´ve just asked my parents, and now they have a doubt: Germany or Holland....And of course this same week I send the image with smurf nr 20075 with the band in the hat in black...
PS: Dyar, the smurf included in the furniture is softer than others.It has no markings.Sometimes I think he is taking exercise (abdominals?)...Don´t take the sunbather smurf out of package!!!!!!!!!!I can send you to Australia, you touch it and watch it carefully, and after holidays you send it again to Spain: he always wanted to know Australia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks

Thanks guys......actually I haven't been having a good time lately as Robyn's family are playing musical hospital beds lately (Mrs Dyar's Mum came home from hospital on Sunday after a week....but her grandfather was rushed to hospital on the Saturday....they both live alone together so it's been a stressful week for Mrs Dyar.....and then the game against Italy...
)
I look forward to seeing the pics Pitufo.....and I know Syd and myself would love to see what Spain looks like too. My good friend in Germany leaves for Spain this week for a holiday...I have already told him that I wish I could go with him which I thought was a pretty strong hint but alas....no plane ticket has arrived so far.
I would love to get some of those smurfs though Pitufo.....both the furniture sets and the ones your parents got for you. I think this hobby never ends.
Dyar
PS - Stace....if I told him of your invite I would never get him to return.....come to think of it......"hey Syd....

Wow they are fantastic Pitufo....they are so rare and so expensive these days that I think your parents did you a huge favour by buying them for you....I wish I had your parents....truth be told I wish I had anyone's parents rather than my own at times.
I hope someday I can find some of these too...thanks for the pic

Hi again Dyar!!!!!!!!!!I´m happy if you have enjoyed with my smurfs...I´ve just noticed another Syd smurf is not at the photograph...I suppose he is hidden behind a mushroom...It´s one carrying a traffic sign...
And my parents: when I was a child (8-10 years old), I liked smurfs a lot...I think my parents didn´t think that their son was going to be a "smurf fanatic"...But I must admit that thanks to them, I continued collecting smurfs, because in Spain,it was almost imposible....
Bye.
PS: I always wonder: do the other users of this forum understand my english?

Hi Pitufo...I've never had a problem with your English at all. I've never had a problem with anyone's English on this forum except for Karen's
j/k....but if I tried to type in Spanish then I think I would give even you a headache as you tried to decipher what I was trying to say.
Your English is very good

Hi Joaquín
They are lovely smurfs to have.
I have to admit, when I first saw these I was 100% convinced they were fakes and that someone had just added the items BUT having seen so many of them over the years and some (like yours Joaquín) that have been in collections for a very long time I think I have changed my mind. I would love to know how these smurfs originated but for now I think I can consider them as originals.
(I may change my mind again if more info became available
)
PS. Joaquín, your English is VERY good, I have never had a problem understanding you.

I saw some of these quite a while back on ebay..I didn't buy them because like you Rachel, I was under the impression they were homemade fakes..wish I'd got them now

I really like your special Syds - I never see any of them for auction on US ebay though. And Joaquin, your english is very understandable...better than Dyar's is sometimes (j/k Drew). I can only speak, write, read English so I think it's great that you have at least two languages you can understand. We Americans should know more languages like the rest of the world does
