They are lovely Maureen.
With the glasses being so fragile, I agree it is so much better to find them in person and these are great. Nice one.

I do not like to buy glasses on ebay, too fragile for the rough parcel handlers at the post office
Well done Maureen
I've put off getting the glasses for the same reason.

Nice glasses Maureen.
I have the set of these (1982 & 1983 Hardees promos) thanks to Gerda & Stace who helped me out with them a while back.
I think Gerda may still have more of these for sale (correct me if I'm wrong) and she is the world's best packer....you just have to see the packages to believe it as it's almost an art form.
Will you be using these Maureen? I decided not to cos with Jack around and the fact I would have to import more I thought it might be wiser to keep them on a (high) shelf instead.

OH yes, Gerda is an excellent packer. I got my two sets of the glasses from antique stores and flea markets. I have mailed a few of my doubles off (some to Dyar) and *knock on wood* none of them broke in transit

I don't have the glasses released in the US, since it's very difficult and expensive to have them shipped overseas without damage.
But I have two complete sets (4 different subjects) of the Nutella glasses.

Your makeing me blush
I just tend to over pack, I've seen and heard of too many casualties to not take good care. And yes I do have a few left. I even use some everyday. The kids love them. I use to be able to find them at the local flee markets, but I could not spot a single one this year. Must be getting harder to come by... of course i only went a couple times to the flea as the road construction makes it hard to get to..
gerda
ps.. if anyone is missing any let me know, i may be able to help out!

Mine turned up fine Stace....which is kind of amazing considering I think the postman play football with some of my packages. I have seen the postal workers being rough with packages at the airport so I am always amazed when any packages arrive unbroken....there are just no defence against some posties.
I received a large box where I bought a couple of hundred smurfs from someone in the US a couple of years ago....he said he would throw in some glasses as a bonus....I didn't realise at the time that he meant literally.
I carried the box back from the post office and all the way I could hear the broken glass and was just hoping that the smurfs weren't being cut and destroyed at the same time. Since it was a big box and the glasses weren't packed properly I had a hell of a time pulling out loose smurfs inbetween the remnants of about 6 glasses. I couldn't complain because they were bonus items but I couldn't help thinking that it was a real shame as I didn't have most of the glasses at that stage and it was quite a nice bonus to receive.
They are really nice glasses and I appreciated all of the help I got to purchase or trade for the ones I have. I would love to get some of the ones that Tojo got recently from Germany as well.....we are lacking smurfy merchandise down here at the moment and can only hope that the smurf movies can change that a bit.

Hi Attom,
yes, I have more glasses, that I bought on the same yard sale a few years ago.
I do believe I have them all now, but I am not sure since I don't know how many were originally released.
Will you be using these Maureen? I
Dyar,
I was using the other glasses for quite a few years, until my grandmother came for a visit and grumbled something like" those are children glasses and I'd be ashamed to be caught with them"....
she put them in the back of the cabinet, which is fine with me, this way they are safe.. (she is not always overly careful with breakable stuff)..... I can understand that you are not using yours Dyar, I probably will display mine now, too.... Not sure where though yet.

Maureen,
There are 8 glasses from the 82 series and 6 from the 83 set. Hope this helps!
And tell your grandma they are not childish! I am drinking out of one right now

As for having
all the glasses: there are more than 100 different ones, and a load of cups as well. Check out e.g.
http://www.saussard.be/, and go to the "Mug Glass Cup" section to see his collection of glasses (I have only some 50 glasses and 20 cups or so).
I don't know if there is a definitive list or either of those...
