you know, when the smurf movie comes out and if we get new smurf toys, it will not be schleich to produce them. It'll be another company like with these toys from 1996. We will probably get this sort of stuff again though I can't imagine what. If the toys will be movie based or just smurf toys. I look back at these, I think it's Toy Island company off the top of my head, toys and I don't like them too much anymore. I have the berry lovin baby smurf.

So I hope we get some good smurf toys.
Just thinking about what Care Bears have had in the past years.
Soft toys mainly. I'd like to see some new smurf soft toys.

Brad.

To some collectors, this is a collector's item. These were pulled from the shelves because of complaints that the doll uttered a swear word. Ten years ago these were available at discount family stores for $5.00, just to deplete the stock.

Hi Jim, I was wondering if this was one of the swearing babies. :)

Do you know off hand, were all the ones sold in America and Canada like thi? I have one which I bought in the UK but mine definitely does not swear. :-?

These sold in the Ontario, Canada and Western New York area. I believe what it came down to was your interpretation of the baby jibberish that was recorded in the memory chip. I bought dozens of these and sent them to collectors all over the U.S. At those prices, it was a much sought after item. I never kept one myself.

I have one of these to give Kristy for Christmas.
My one came from Canada and I won another on Ebay in Australia which I sold to Linda. I have only listened to the one I have kept for myself.

I don't know what to make of it :-?
They say the baby says "What the F**K " but like Jim said , it comes down to your interpretation of the baby jibberish.

I don't think I would have picked it up if I hadn't read about this swearing baby before.

what.... LOL... I never knew about this. Thanks for the info.
Yeah I guess it does come down to your interpretation of the jibberish.
Myself I hear "open the book", lol. I can remember when I first brought him (actually Rae I think I was given this one as a christmas present), I played his sounds over and over trying to work out what he was saying with the jibberish... hehe. I don't hear swearing with mine though.

Thanks Jim. :-D

I remember discussions about these baby smurfs in the past and even though I own one, having just spent the last half looking for new batteries, I have just realised why I didn't know the answer about these - mine doesn't work! :banghead:

I was quite sure that baby smurf was a boy too even though in the comics and cartoons he is dressed in blue, white and pink like the figures are. :-?

lol :-D

Baby Smurf is a boy and there is only 1 baby smurf so I'm really not sure why some of the figures and this berry lovin baby are coloured pink. Although it's actually all the variations of the baby that are coloured pink? So maybe those are female. Anyway I guess that is what happens when you let Smurfette spend too much time with baby smurf. Future smurf name to be cross-dressing smurf.
