well ive been busy this week and built this,I found a dresser in my neighboor garbage... I put plywood to do shelves in the drawer box and i put a plexi-glass in front... I put fake grass too from mini-golf yard.... this is not painted yet but this is only to give you an idea... i did not put all my smurfs in the dresser yet.. :) and did not took them out from the bags..... poor little smurfs... they were waiting for this cabinet, since a long time...

I also created shelves with a plexi-glasss in front to put the most value smurfs in it, i plan to build 2 or 3 more to put all my other value smurfs... :-D
Building this was alot of fun, If a 17 years old guy can do it, everybody can do it :), it cost me around 20$ so its cheaper than any ikea cabinet. enjoy :D

Hi Sami,

That looks great. :D

Are you going to put some plexiglass or something on the front of the dresser?? I once saw a cabinet in a secondhand store that would make a great display cabinet but it had no doors and I was thinking of putting flexiglass or something on but that seems painful to get in and out of if you screw it on.

my first try was plexiglass but for a bigger shelf it is horrible to use....
too flexible, you can scratch it easily you cannot cut it in a line over a long sitance.
My bigger shelf is 320x230 cm and I have done that at the end with glass and
I'm happy with

Hi Samismurf,

You've done an excellent job there :D and it is much more enjoyable than just buying a cabinet .

Look forward to seeing it again when its full with all your Smurfs :-D

I really like your shelf units for your most treasured smurfs - they make great pieces of artwork for your wall

That's quite clever Sami and it looks like a perfect idea for your smurfs. I like the village displayed on top like that as well.

I should pay some attention to displaying my smurfs but I am so lazy with them these days. Maybe later this year I will work my way up to it.

Let us know when you have the finished product

Hi Sam, looks like you have been busy. It was definitely worth it as I think you have made a great storage and display cabinet and the shelves look wonderful too. You are certainly treating your smurfs very well. :-D

I also love the way you have your buildings on the top and using the grass was a fab idea.
I put fake grass too from mini-golf yard....
Sorry, this made me laugh. Is there now a blank patch at your local mini golf course? :)

Great pics too. :D

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

The plexi glass on front of the dresser is already there, the back of the dresser is not closed so its how i put my smurf in it, and i move it with wheel that i installed under it. Rachel, the green fake grass come from a camping caravan carpet(put it in front of it)... my father said that i could use it.
