I know alot of you don't like collecting plush smurfs because they always look horrible after all this time.

I have found that a plush can easily go in the laundry, just throw it in with your dirty cloths, even dry it in the dryer and they come out looking brand new, Mind you if it had tags they will not survive, this is only adviced for tagless smurfs.

Do not wash those little clipy smurfs (the ones where the arms hang onto something) The glue from there hats loosens up and they loose there hats, these can be glued on I suppose and they do end up nice and clean but it is a hassle.
Just thought you might want to know if you are like me I often passed on the plush smurfs at flea markets thinking they where too dirty and now if I see something I pick it up as often the plushes are still a dime a dozen especially if they are very dirty people just want to get rid of them!

Great tips Gerda, Thanks. :-D

I haven't yet had to wash a plush as I only have a few older ones which are not too bad at all and the rest I have are all new and have never been played with.

One point to note though, check before you put any plush through the wash as some of them have battery compartments inside for making various sounds. :D

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Sounds like me, Gerda :)

I have seen a few second hand plush smurfs at the markets that were cute but just a little too grubby for my liking.
I was always worried throwing it in the washing machine they would fall to bits :???:
Thanks for the tips though, I'll give it a go.
