Hi,

I think it was about four weeks ago, when we discussed our favourite authors or books. :) Therefore I was just wondering what was the last cd you bought?

The last cd, I bought was the "Piece by piece" (Special Edition) by Katie Melua. :-D

The next cd on my "want list" is the latest album by John Legend "Once again" which I'm looking forward to buying next week. :hyper: :-D

The last cd I bought was the lord of the rings soundtrack boxset for Kimmy this year. I don't really buy cd's for myself, I just buy them for her.... :-D

Smurfy regards

Merzbow - Metamorphism. From the Boomkat site:
Housed in a simply incredible hard-cast, etched Marble box, the packaging for this latest Merzbow release alone makes it one of the most collectable releases he has put his name to and one of the heaviest CD packages we have ever come across. Merzbow is the most prolific creator of experimental music alive. His enormous discography is only rivalled in size by that of Sun Ra and Muslimgauze. This makes understanding his body of work very difficult and intimidating to approach and ‘Metamorphism” is a powerfully emotional, violently painful, and strangely ambient work. Fused from deep and loud pulses, Merzbow proceeds to wrap all sorts of whistling and buzzing, some abstract guitar strumming and chaotic sheets of static and ear-splitting metallic scrapes over the carefully constructed rhythm. There are only 500 copies of this cd housed in this amazing fossilised Ammonite engraved casing so if you want one, u better hurry...

@hfos.... ohh know that's extreme stuff. I stopped at things like Bohren and the Club of Gore but that's too much noise

Do you mean Bohren is too much noise? Even my mom LOVES Bohren und der Club of Gore..!
Merzbow however, is very, very noisy. It won't stop him from getting played at my funeral, though :D

Since my ipod, I stopped buying CD's and just download songs of the net .

Lately it has been Fergie ( London Bridge), Nelly Futado ( Maneater) and some 80's music.

@hfos.... so I think your mom hears nice music. Maybe Bohren is too less noise ;-)
Overall I love some sorts of extreme music like Godspeed You black Emperor ! but not too much experimental stuff.

I hope you invite me to your funeral because that sounds like fun

The last CD's I bought were:-

Bäst of by Die Ärzte (aus Berlin 8) )

Homebrew by the Downhome Perculators (a Frankfurt Blues group 8) 8) )

I love blues 8)

Die Ärzte is my favourite German band. They always manage to bring a smile to my face

Quite agree! I have both of these CD's too. While Metallica went commercial, Dave Mustaine stuck to his principles after leaving Metallica & forming Megadeth & still makes great music today

They never were my favorite band but they always did amuse me very much when I heard them played on the radio....I had no idea they are still around :-D

Hi Maureen,

they're still around & still being as silly as ever. They did an excellent 'unplugged' a few years ago with a school orchestra & choir which I can highly recommend :D

I love that song & the other variations of it on the cd-single :D The video is funny too featuring Charlotte Roche.

I haven't got anything from Rod but I do have Farin's cd's. I enjoy those too.
