As every year, our small town had a 4th of July parade today...and it was a bit special as the county celebrates its 150th birthday this year...We had a good turnout for a town of 4,000 people and a very long parade (so long that my step-father got quite antsy at the end for it to be over with ) The weather was beautiful and all seemed to be in a celebratory mood...After the parade we had a little fair and tonight there is a street festival with music, food and music...
here are a few picture of today's parade..hillbilly style
people lining up the mainstreet before the parade
The start of the parade....flying of the US and Tennessee flag
we are still a bit behind the times...where cars are concerned....
the mountain resue squad
hillbillies celebrating on their truck
once a volunteer state, always a confederate rebel.....
Our own beauty Queen, the flag she is waving are Bloomers and yes she is holding a chicken in her arms
hometown Fireworks....made out of paper....
