A nice end to the week

Hi guys :wave2:

Every year I try and organise a big day for the kids and this year it was the turn of all the cellists in the area. After a busy few weeks getting all the music organised and letters to the kids and teachers involved I was very happy to finally get to the day to see what was going to happen.

A very rainy day didn't help as we had planned a picnic for lunch but despite this, all in all, everything went very well. I think I counted about 75 kids which in itself is a miracle and we even managed to play a few pieces all together. It sounded a bit like a zoo on fire first thing this morning but by the end of the day it was even possible to recognise the tunes and the parents who turned up for a little concert to finish the day off all seemed very impressed.

Hopefully I will have a bit more time for smurfing again now and intend to get on with the smurf village. :-D

A very tired but a very happy smurfer. :cheerz:

Sounds great, Rach...I love when things work out, especially when organized...I'm a fly by the seat of my pants kinda girl (to steal Dyar's "Pretty Woman" line :) )

Good to hear it went well Rach. I was very impressed seeing you conduct and it sounded amazing when I heard Mission Impossible being played by the orchestra live....I loved the experience of the performance and seeing what you do for work and for the kids in the area.

Very impressive Mrs Webby

Dyar

PS - Hey Stace, that is my line and who said you could use it or even that it would suit you....huh? huh?

Glad the day went well Rachel :D (except the rain - is it ever gonna stop! I forget now what a sun looks like :umbrella: )

Great photo - I don't think I've ever seen so many people playing the cello in one room :)

Have fun getting back to smurf village :-D

Thanks Guys.

Whenever I do something like this, there are always a few times when I wonder if it is worth all the hard work putting it together but when you get to the end of the day and there are so many very excited and happy kids asking when the next one is, I know it is definitely worth it. :relieved: :grinning:
