Thanks for all the well-wishes!! It's good to feel welcomed

I'm not at home currently, my smurfs are lined along the shelf above my PC. From my original collection I still have the following that are still intact from what I can remember "injured smurf", "santa", "emperor", "smurfette", "clown", "doctor", "hiker", "bowler smurf congratulations sockel".

The wife dug up these from her old toys "flower/gift smurf", "money", "lute", "tennis", "ice lolly", "telephone"

I picked up a lot on ebay which had "bricklayer", "spy", "toothbrush", "sleepwalker", "lantern" ,"conductor", "digger", "card player you're smurftastic sockel"

I was also lucky enough to be given a couple of boxed super smurfs. "skateboarder", "hurdler"

Getting there. Unfortunately about 1/2 of my originals were busted up....geez I was a destructive kid!

I know Aussies do not represent the most people from one particular country here but do we actually have a list of where most genuine members come from?

I might put a list togetehr when i have some time as I honestly don't know which country is best represented here on the forum......although I am pretty sure new memberships from Antartica has gone a little cold recently.

I am thinking that you would be considered German now due to you being born there and the fact that you have grown up there.....maybe 80-20 German/Czech?

I am really surpried by all of the Australian members since a lot of people I know locally have no idea that there were even smurf figures in the past let alone new ones produced each year.

I am thinking England might have the most members here....what do you guys think?

I live in the country and the nearest grocery store is 4kms away which isn't so bad I guess but to do any decent shopping its a 20 min drive to the "big shops" in Bunbury.

I used to live in a little semi-remote town called Grass Patch. The town consisted of a pub, the school, 4 or 5 houses and a town hall. It didn't even have a petrol station. It was a 30km trip to the nearest petrol station and a 78km trip to the nearest shops in Esperance. You'd have to take an esky to town if you wanted to buy any icecream as it'd melt before you got home otherwise.

I don't think many Europeans can appreciate things like that until they've visited Australia or the States. Once outside of the cities the distances are so huge. It was amazing going by bus from Alice Springs to Adelaide to appreciate that. Miles & miles of bush & not much else. Except roadkill of course.

Nice to see lots of countries represented though as they really do bring a new flavour to the board and an interesting perspective.....plus we learn so much. I knew hardly anything about belgium before....now I feel like I know...well, a little bit more I suppose....but it was way more than I knew before.

@Simon: Bavaria is definitely "Bayern", but some Germans would not say they are from Germany, but referrng to "Bavaria" as their origin. There must be something concerning the "Freistaat", but I still don't get the point, why Cheesy always hints at Bavaria only... .
