Let me try again...
I bought these Smurfs from Portugal:

Image

What bothers me, is that all seems like new ones. Paint is non-glossy and PVC seems a little bit lighter than HK ones. All Smurfs have Made in Portugal and Schleich markings. Few has also Applause marking. Some markings are in unusual places, like behind of smurfy cap.
Can anyone tell what kind of smurfs I´m holding here? Are these genuine?

Can they simply be lisenced reprints made in Portugal? Or are all official reprints always listed somewhere? The new-looking smurfs listed in the fake thread a while back were suspicious because there were Smurfs like the teacher apple etc which would be worth faking, but these are quite ordinary. What do you others think?

Hi Pauli

These are 100% authentic smurf variations. Smurfs were made in Portugal at some stage before they were made in China. I think Christy has a catalogue that shows all of the smurfs that were made in Portugal (also features the pen holder tree swing set, farm with a green base and others). These were officially licenced smurfs and are definately not fakes so no need to worry about that.

A nice collection of Portugual variations you have there :D

That was good news Dyar. As I won also one of my long awaited Smurf with Corn. And soccer Smurfette with base. I´ve been losing my mind with Soccer Smurfette without base! How do you get her stay standing? :banghead:

Thanks for answer

Oh, here´s picture too

Lovely smurfs Janne, as Dyar already has said, all genuine and nice variations. They all look to be in a very good condition too. :-D

I think she is cute, J.T :D

I don't have this variation yet, but I also have to admit, my soccer smurfette without the base has no problems standing up....despite what some Liverpoodlian may think  :neener:

and congratulations on your nice collection of Portugal smurfs :-D

Does anybody know how many smurfs there are with this marking? :?

I have the same problem with my smurfette without a base as well, JT :x
I've had a few like that, Gargamel with hands in the air, thanksgiving smurf and soccer smurfette. It's annoying when you accidentally bump one of them, then next minute the domino effect kicks in

Lovely lot of Portugal smurfs :D
:winks: Raelene

What made me curious, was the fact that I got those so easily from eBay. Without any competition at all. After all it was smurf lot and price was very reasonable, even with shipping cost. I started to suspect them to be fakes.

And yes I have too few other trouble making smurfs on my collection. Schoolgirl keep leaning on Papa with book. And waiter who keeps on falling over clumsy!

Hi JT,
I noticed this with ebay, too...It seems you can get some good deals on ebay right now as bids are low :D

I have a huge problem with my diver smurfs....they don't like to stand up at all and keep on falling down.. :x

That is an interesting question Maureen, I have no idea at all. :D

When I get a minute I will try and list mine with the Portugal marking and then if others do the same, we might get a start of a good list. :-D

I had also noticed there were a few bargains to be had on Ebay at the moment. I think it is just down to the sheer amount of smurfs now being sold. :D

These are interesting smurfs & I had no idea that these were produced at all. It's nice to know that there are so many different variations of smurfs out there (but depressing on the other hand as there are too many to collect :) )

I've got a few smurfs which I have to lean on others too as they don't stand up on their own:- spy (always falls backwards), rollerskater smurfette (could be Syd's fault there), surfer & McDonalds smurf holding cake. I hate that domino effect too. It's a real pain when one falls over & another 10 go with it :banghead:

As I said above...Christy has a Portuguese catalogue that shows all of the different ones made in Portugal so maybe she can count them for us when she gets a spare moment....then we can try to guess which smurfs they are from the ones in our own collections.

Are there any obvious differences, besides the markings, between these and non-Portugese ones? Except that Smurfettes ice cream has the colours in a different order than usually (mirror image). Or am I wrong?

When I get home I will be happy to list all of the Portugal markings I have so far.....I just added 2 different Angry Portugal variations and the Discus Thrower whilst in Belgium that I didn't know existed but I am pretty sure there aren't too many more out there that I don't have yet.....except for maybe a few of the supers.
