Hi everyone,

I was wondering if everybody collects Smurfagrams? I for myself just love these and there are so many different with different colors... Thanks to a nice trade I just got my 33rd one and I've updated my smurfagrams page on my website, so if any of you is interested to see my collection, I leave you the direct link. Here it is:

http://pages.globetrotter.net/luv2trade ... agrams.htm

It would be interesting to know if you collect these, how many you have so far, and it would be great to see pictures of your smurfagrams, so it could give a good idea to everyone what's available out there from all around the world..... We could even make it a sticky, so it could become a reference for everyone....

Smurfy regards from Canada! :-D

Hi Daniel,
I think that is a wonderful idea... :D

I absolutely love the sockels/smurfograms now after hating them at first

Here is where I posted some of my sockels....Mind you that was back in November and my collection has since probably doubled  :) :) :)
http://www.forum.bluecavern.com/viewtopic.php?t=8022

I think I am up to around 100 now with more coming in the mail :D

I know there are several collectors on this forum that have way more sockels and it might be a good idea to do a checklist or so of the different sockels out there, especially the non-English ones...I kinda usually know which smurf belongs on which sockel when the saying is in English or German, but I am totally lost with the other languages :?

So far, I usually check the DSK when I see one that I haven't heard :D about yet ..

Nice topic! :D

I don't really collect them, but nevertheless, when I see these cute smurfograms, I sometimes have to buy them... :???: :)

Here is my small sockel collection (the candle from the candle smurf is broken and the card players are double).

But I always wonder how to get the nordish sockels...They are so crazy... :)

Postby Guest » Fri May 04, 2007 5:11 pm

Hi,

Well Maureen you have quite a collection of Smurfagrams! 100 of them with more coming! :D Where do you get them all? Do you buy them on the internet?..... It's nice to see the pictures also, there are many in there that I've been seeing for the first time.....

And you tell me that there are collectors that have many more! Wow! Hey let's find the king (or the queen) of smurfagrams! Who has the most smurfagrams and how many? Come on don't be shy whoever it is ahaha! It would be great to see pictures also

Hey Simon, i just love the "I hate mondays" one.... he looks great! About your card player double, would you trade it for another smurfagram that I have available..... I'll send you a PM about this....

Smurfing Beer... I started slowly also with minor interest in these, but my collection grew slowly over the years and it's really great when I add some piece by peice to my collection.

Like I've mentionned on another topic, I just love to trade and the last ones I got via trades, I'm happy to leave a note on my website about where it came from to my collection. It gives a little personnal touch to each of them knowing the travelling they done to my house! Call me silly but hey it's the smurfy spirit! :o

Time to go now, keep this toping going with more collections....

Smurfy regards from Canada!

Daniel :D :-D

Hi again Raelene,

I just went to your site to see the pictures of your Schonwald smurfagrams.... Great pictures! It's nice to see them all in 1 place. Great info. I've already put your page in my bookmarks!

On another note, do you know what Schonwald stands for? What does "Top of black forest" mean?. Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't know :banghead: but I don't care! :-? ..... Why not learn a thing or two while having fun!

Best regards!

Daniel

Hi Daniel,
I get mine mostly off ebay but I got a few at Passion this year :D I would love to trade sockels with you, but as of right now I don't have any doubles, except for one and I already checked your website...you have that one already :) :) :) :)

Top of the Black Forest probably describes the area..the Black forest is a mountain area in the South of Germany that is covered with Pine trees hence the name black (when you go there the area is very beautiful but also very wooded and darker than other areas in Germany, but probably one of the most beautiful areas of Germany :D )

Here is a link describing the area :D

http://www.blackforest-tourism.com/inde ... onen/natur

I am not sure why they advertise with smurfs, but I like it :D

I think Dyar has most of the Schonwald sockels (well the last one hasn't been added yet, but it is the devil smurf on the sockel :D )

Here is a link to his Schonwald webpage

http://www.geocities.com/sgtpapas/socke ... nwald.html

and Rachel has most of them also...here is a link to her site

http://www.blueimps.com/SmurfaGrams.html

I am not sure who has the most sockels on this forum (it would be fun finding out) but I know that David has over 200, I think

Here is an old thread in which he gives out a lot of information and included a lot of pictures :D

The following information I found on the Mushroom Village website. I believe Herr Weis' wife collects smurfs & that's where the idea came from. I've updated the list as the original wasn't quite up to date:-

The Schönwald promos are part of a series of pieces made by Schönwald, a spa and resort located in the famed "Black Forest" of Germany. Schönwald purchased 5,000 blank blue Smurf-a-Gram bases, and then purchased figurines as they were needed to manufacture the promos themselves. This was an unusual arrangement in that Schleich usually manufactures the finished product when it is involved in a promo, and because they normally require a 5,000 piece order for each promo figurine. The Schönwald Smurf-a-Gram series was made possible by a special arrangement between Hendrik Coysman, (IMPS Managing Director) and Hans-Peter Weis (Schönwald tour manager) during Mr. Coysman's stay at the Schönwald spa. Because IMPS and Schleich relaxed the usual standards for promos, the Schönwald promos are available in much smaller quantities than any other promo from that period.
To make the promos, figurines were glued to a blank Smurf-a-Gram base, and then a pressure-sensitive Schönwald sticker was applied. Schönwald produced a first series (identified by a white Christmas tree on the label) and a second series (identified by a green tree). As the total number of pieces produced approached 5,000 pieces, an additional quantity of blank bases was purchased, so that the program could continue, although it is not known how many more were bought. The following is a current list of the pieces that have been produced to date:
Series 1 (White tree on sticker) {4180 pieces}
20176 Good Luck - September 1998 - 180 pieces
20452 Snowboarder - November 1998 - 250 pieces
20453 Snowboarder Smurfette - November 1998 - 250 pieces
20459 Nameplate - April 1999 - 800 pieces
(With Christof Duffner autograph, champion ski jumper & '94 Olympic Games winner.)
20455 Tourist - July 1999 - 400 pieces
20124 Santa - December 1999 - 500 pieces
20460 Golfer - July 2000 - 400 pieces
20467 Chimney Sweep - December 2000 - 400 pieces
20118 Umbrella - July 2001 - 500 pieces
20469 Bouquet - February 2002 - 500 pieces
Series 2 (Green tree on sticker) {3900 pieces}
20484 Tenorhorm - July 2002 - 800 pieces
20040 Gift - December 2002 - 800 pieces
20473 Hiker - March 2004 - 600 pieces
20522 Workaholic - June 2005 - 600 pieces
20547 Witch – April 2006 – 600 pieces
20213 Devil – February 2007 – 500 pieces

I only collect the socles if they are promotional, or come in another lot..I've only got 2 non promotional socles..one day I'll start getting them..but not just yet..got other things to get first
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Hi Tojo,

Thanks for this great info about the story behind the Schonwald smurfagrams. Very interesting to read!

This board is just great!

I don't actively collect them yet (except Schonwalds :-D ) and only have 2.

I think once my basic collection is complete it will be one of the things I start taking more interest in. I will be selective about which ones I buy, but only because they take up quite a bit of space :-) :juggle:

Time ago, I said: I won´t collect fakes...And now I have hundreds...If I say I won´t collect sockels, I think It is a lie :) :) I have only two sockels: one was a present from Linda  , and the other one I have found it on a berlines fleak market...

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!

I collect the sockels and I have a few of them in my bags that I need to add to my site when I get back home...whenever that may be :-?

I saw 2 collections in the Netherlands back in April that had over 500 sockels each which is the most I have seen....and no, they didn't let me take a few hundred of them home despite me using my manners and saying "please, please, please, please".

Hi Daniel, nice topic. :cheerz:

I have kept up with the Schonwald sockels as they came out so have the complete collection of them so far but I am afradi I haven't really activley collected many other sockels yet. It is an area that I would love to get into but a lack of space to display them and a real lack of knowledge on my part about them has so far stopped me. I have about 10 "normal" sockels which is a bit pathetic but maybe one day.......... :-?

Any lists or sockel pages on websites are always welcome as this is an area that I have always thought could be more informative. :D

David has a very keen interest in the sockels so hopefully he will see this thread when he has a minute. :-D

Hi Baboune,

Yeap Sockels are great... although I had said once upon the time that I would never collect sockels.. I now have just a few short of 300.

However, I got really annoyed recently because more and more fakes are around... And often you cannot tell from a picture on eBay and you only find out when you receive them...

I have been caught out 3 times recently and got rather disheartened by the whole thing...

I have decided to make a web sites for sockels (and a few other things which are not covered on other sites). The aim will be to expose "bad practice" about these and show how easily it is to get caught...

The web site is "under way" but not ready yet... I'll let you know of course! :)
