Hi :)

I was just wonderring who will also watch this year's Eurovision Song Contest. :)

The German entry sung by Roger Cicero is called "Frauen regier'n die Welt" (which means "Women rule the world") is a franky-boy like jazz-standard. Roger is going sing both the refrain in English by changing the title into "Guess who rules the world?" and Finnish.

Here is his official website: http://www.roger-cicero.de . Hit English and go to "music" in order to listen to some samples.

I guess I have to watch this year's Eurovision Song Contest as whole Finland has gone grazy because of last years winning. This years contest is taking place about 500 meters from my workplace so I can almost feel the athmosphere :)
This event has always been very important to us and even we haven´t won before (or because of that) this year is extremely important.

I haven´t yet heard all songs and don´t have any favorites. But tomorrow is qualifying round and I´m gonna watch it what ever it takes

Hi Dominique, it is one of those things that I don't set out to watch but always ended up seeing it just for the entertainment value and the "nil point's".

The British entry this year is absolutely awful but then they usually are. :lalala:

Janne, I have to admit, I loved the Finnish entry and winners last year. They certainly knew how to put on a good show. :-D

Yes, Lordi was really refreshing last year. Maybe not traditional Eurovision performance, but certainly something new. At least in this competition. They owe great deal to my all time favorite KISS and mr. Lordi is also huge fan. This year is time to move on and I think we´ll might have more traditional winner this year. More beautiful for sure :)

:-D
Isn't that funny how that goes...I remember watching it every year that I lived in Germany...and I never ever wanted to watch it but ended up doing so anyway....Still not sure how that happened :-? :) :) :) but sometimes it was very entertaining..... :-D and I think a lot of famous artists have come out of it..... :D

I`ll be watching it....i always do...i lurvvv Eurovision...favourite entry of all time has to be moldova`s 2 years ago...zdob si zdub....i even downloaded it... :-?

I agree with Rachel our entry is diabolical...and i must apologize in advance...i didn`t vote for it...mind you the rest we had to choose from were equally as bad.i predict royaume uni...nil points!

When you think of all the great bands we have given the world over the years, you would think we would win it a bit more often...but that really isn`t what wins eurovision these days ...what with Greece and Cyprus giving each other a guaranteed 12 points...and all the Scandanavian and former russian countries doing similar with their neighbours .The phone vote was supposed to discourage this kind of voting...if anything it`s got worse :) :?

But i`m sure Helsinki will put on one hell of a show :D

Good points Elvissmurf.
Except that last year was first ever Sweden has given any points to Finland :)
But watch closely how many points Germany gives to Turkey...I could almost bet 12, again
Phone voting benefits song that appeals to younger audience. Just because so many voters are underaged. I think that was main reason Lordi won last year.

Well depending on the high numnber of Turkish people in Germany, I fully agree to what you said, Janne. I also loved Lordi the other year, they were amazing!!!

But my favorite winner ever is ABBA. :-D

And the winner is..............

:champ: SERBIA :champ:

An "interesting" choice of songs as normal. A couple of glasses of wine made it a bit more entertaining. The British song ended last but one which is really where it belonged. :o

This block voting is getting beyond a joke now...i`m thinking we should now start sending an English,Welsh,Scottish and Northern Irish entry from now on...just to be able to compete with the vote for your neighbours act :-D

Was that 12pts for Finland from Sweden again???? :)

They must have really liked our show! :D As otherwise they would never have given 12 points to us!!! After all we just won them on ice-hockey too! :mosh:

There has to be a way to stop the lunacy of this block voting.

Many a total collective vote...of all the votes...but that would hinder the countries with smaller populations.

Not allowed to vote for your immediate neighbour!!

Only the countries in the final allowed to vote?

Huge punch up of all the artists :)

Anyone have any other suggestions???

Yeah the Serbian entry was an ok song..but i personally preffered the Finnish or Bulgarian songs....and although our entry was very cheesy/camp..i feel there were alot worse....generally helps if you can perform your entry live though :)

I suggest that there should be two semifinals, one for the Western countries and one for the Eastern countries, on which only those countries belonging to the same group should be allowed to vote.
The winners of that semifinals plus (Spain, France, Germany and UK which did not qualify, for they are always paying most broadcasting fees) may then participate in the big final.

I also voted, too. :) I voted for the Hungarian entry, since it was such an excellent entry, for the singer's voice reminded me a little of Katie Melua. :)

The title was called "Unsubstantial Blues".

Well the British and the Ukrainian entry were just horrible. :music: :)
