I have gotten this smurf in the mail yesterday with the box....there was no tub included though. I checked it on Dyar's website and saw that some of his smurfs are with the tub and some are without it.....Does the tub usually come with every Angler or are there complete Angler's out there without the tub?

Yes some have a tub in the box and some don't, but i don't know
which one.

I only have one angler (light yellow fishing rod, square connection) who has a tub, but in the DSK there are variations with and without tubs:

The variations angler with a 1. brown fishing rod and 2. with a dark yellow vitreous fishing rod don't have a tub. This is the same as on Dyar's website...
That is nearly the same as the chain gang smurf with and without stone...

What a fishing rod does your angler have?

Hi Maureen, both my angler's had the tubs, one was bought loose, the other MIB. Both are marked W Germany if that helps.

Maybe the American Hong Kong ones don't come with tubs then as the only ones that have tubs are the W Germany ones....and of course the new Made in China ones as well which have the marking also on the tub.

Hi Maureen..I can say categorically that this angler did indeed come without a tub as I remember having it as a kid in the 70s and mine never came with a tub.
