Well, I know I shouldn't be proud of my smurfs or sockels but I can't help myself, I just am :) :)

My sockels are probably my most favorite smurf items and I had great fun this week putting them on my website and I did learn a bit also.
Like I said earlier, I won't be sharing every new page I put on the site with you all, but I can't help myself announcing my sockel pages.

I want to thank Dyar for his invaluable help this week. He was patient enough to look each page over as I sent it to him, and shared not only his expertise but also gave a lot of encouragement

David translated the French sockels for me and also helped me placing one or two sockels on the correct page

I hope you enjoy the pages as much as I enjoyed putting them on there (just can't help myself..I love me sockels :smitten:) I know there aren't any real rare ones among them but I simply don't care :) :) :)

If anybody finds anything wrong with something, please feel free to shoot me a pm :D

pedestals

Oh, I should mention, I am aware that the bandleader is not showing up on the pedestal page, and I am still trying to figure out why that is the case..if anybody has an idea how to fix that, feel free to let me know :D

You will probably find that most collectors on this forum are proud of their smurfs. I know I am VERY proud of mine!! It doesn't matter to me if a smurf cost me 99p or £100, I love them equally!!

Keep on smurfing.......... :thumbsmurf:

Yeah I see a problem there Mosey....you have some sockels that I don't......we need to fix this urgently. I will PM my address to you.

Good work.......sorry you have to delete some of the ones on the pages that I don't have but it will at least keep you busy next week.

Your pal, Dyar

No problem, Dyar....You know what I said before...any smurf I have is yours for free if you want it worse than I do :D

the only problem is...you have to find where Mogli hid them.... :-? and I am pretty sure by the time you come back down here...he will have hidden every single one of them 8) at least that will be my excuse

Loved looking through your sockels Maureen, nice work :okay: :-D

I have only recently started to look at sockels and hope to start collecting more soon. Will definately be using your site for reference :cheerz:

Apart from the Schonwalds do they still release new sockels? I can only remember seeing sockels with the older smurfs ? :-?

Postby steveparkes » Sat Nov 10, 2007 3:33 am
Lovely sockels Maureen, I can see why you are proud of them..I never realised either that the 2 I have (yes only 2 regular ones) are American, I always thought they were English, so thanks for that :D
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Very nice!!! :-D
I'm not currently collecting them, but love seeing them non the less. And who know, maybe in the near future, I'll be buying them as well. ;)

I have been wondering the same thing, and never seen any of the new smurfs on sockels..I think the "newest" smurf I have seen was the Aerobic smurfette on a sockel, but I wasn't convinced that this was a genuine sockel as I have never seen it before (meaning other websites, DSK and their likes). Maybe somebody with more knowledge can give a definite answer :D

I did put another page together on which I put a sockel and music box that I am not convinced are genuine either...and I put a link to David's website on that page. I think David's site has the most information in regards to sockels and he has them listed by smurfs (not countries) which is also very interesting :-D

Hi Maureen, I am well impressed. :clap2: :adore:

Firstly, I knew you had a lot of sockels but to see them all like this, well, fabulous.

Also, I have to add, it is wonderful seeing the translations for them too, it is not very often you see them like this and I have often wondered what some of the sayings were. :thanks2:

There seems to have been a lack of good info for sockels on the www for a long time so to suddenly have yours and David's collections available is brilliant.

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

the only problem is...you have to find where Mogli hid them.... :-? and I am pretty sure by the time you come back down here...he will have hidden every single one of them 8) at least that will be my excuse
That's no problem Moey, I figure Moggy might of eaten them so I may have to cut him open to find them.....it would be such a waste for the sockels to stay in there....also, the pointy edges on the sockel might hurt Moggles so besides his imminent death it may actually be a real positive for the poor suffering little putty cat.

I just got your PM Moey....why am I not invited to visit you anymore? You cannot just say "You're no longer invited" without at least telling me why???

Maureen,

what can I say, you have amazing Sockels.. It was a real pleasure browsing through your collection.

As I'm on night shift this week & will have hours of nothing to do (what a job eh?!) I'll go through your German ones as you asked.
