They aren't Syds you know

Um....sure, I can throw in a box for you Moey :D

Do you want a biscuit box (cookie box for you Mericans) or a pasta box for them to be packaged in?

Sorry I had to laugh at this Steve....not for any mean reasons of course as Karen is a great seller that nobody can deny.....I know this from personal dealings as do many of us here. However it's kind of funny to read it like it's a huge announcement. Promotion is the key I guess and a little never hurts I suppose. This is just my opinion but I don't think there is any danger of missing out on these when they haven't even been released yet.

I think they will be readily available for at least 12 months once they are released so there's no need for anyone to panic just yet. I haven't even thought about where I will buy these from so far......but I am sure I have a bit of time to figure that out without missing out.

I would hardly call it Promotion as i dont think they will need that.
Im just getting over exited about them and I cant wait so the sooner I get my order in the better it will make me feel. :) Bring on 2008 :D

Smurfy regards

For us Mericans (as Dyar has now dubbed us), Target will also have them online...I bought a whole boxful last year from Kyla's Collectibles as well plus there are 3 other stores very close to me (ok, within 2 hours) that will have them in store and online as well :D So yes, I think, these won't get sold out anytime soon either.

Well I'm not going to be a "party pooper" I'm happy with the new Smurfs :D

I like some more than others but I'm not disappointed or unhappy with any of them.

I'll still buy them :dancing:

Hey everyone!

Been away from work, so missed the initial reactions.... please don't kick me off the forum but....

I'm sorry, but they look lovely except Gargamel....he looks like a dodgy old man by a park, if you catch my drift... he should have a bag of sweets or box of puppies... it's awful.

As for the others... FANTASTIC!

Looks like my avatar may change soon then?

Mabe Azrael is celebrating because he escaped the clutches of Gargamel after a national tabloid newspaper led a hunt against the wizard?

These Smurfs were perfectly suited for a playset release, as we 'suggested', but Schleich doesn't listen to collectors... and we all see what happens!

Thanks for posting :-D

Mostly agree with you ...

Gargamel looks really home mage to me

Drummer's fine but are we really to believe 1% of all smurfs in smurfland are continually playing the drums (original drumer, xmas drummer, 2band drummers, playset drummers/40th anniversary drummers) :)

Anniversary (the yellow one), what that's about, really, looks like he wants to be a sumo wrestle but's totally misunderstood the garb.

For once I think Smurfette'd be my favourite,

But do like Papa in tails (although would Papa have white gloves, dunno just seems to look wrong to me somehow, suppose just lots of white for papa with waistcoat, gloves and beard, but then again can't think what colour gloves should be if not white).

Really like party hooter or whatever you'd call it & champagne though.

Agree with whoever pointed out it's Azrael's birthday too, so nice he gets a figure.

Re the alcohol, hum well there is beer smurf of course (although maybe it's beer, beer smurfing beer...you don't get drunk & it isn't dear), so guess this could be non-alcoholic champagne

Overall though I'm satisfied, and I reckon those more creative among you 'll have fun creating sloshed scenes around a drunk Gargee ...

You'll have to forgive me for being slow, but I've just worked out that...maybe.. Gargamel is APOLOGISING to the smurfs after 50 years... hence the flowers and facial expression?

Or am I dumb?

I'd like 1) some playset 2) supersmurfs and 3) new buildings. Am I asking too much? they could forget the party theme for those other items, if they like. Maybe we can wait a bit to see future releases previewed during the next year.
There will be the smurf movie too next year, they should be a lot inspired by it, expecially for new houses in different shapes, and playsets, like a lake with trees, the smurf bridge, river and so on..

20701 Anniversary Smurf
20702 Party Gargamel
20703 Party Azrael
20704 Surprise Smurfette
20705 Party Smurf
20706 Papa Smurf in tails
20707 Drummer Smurf
20708 Bottle Smurf
Does anybody have any idea why the numbers are so way off? They stopped with 20556 - Chief this year and go to 20702 for next years smurfs.. :-? I really wonder if these smurfs aren't supposed to be around for a long time but are intended as a special release, kinda like the ornaments got their own set of numbers.....just throwing around a thought, but the numbers do have me puzzled

I am thinking these will only be available for a short time Moey.....it kind of makes sense that they would be special releases for the anniversary and then disappear again.
