Because of their anniversary there are some articles about the smurfs in the German press recently. I thought I could open a thread where interesting articles - of course hopefully in other languages as well - could be posted.

For example I found these German articles in the internet:

http://www.focus.de/panorama/welt/schlu ... 42667.html
This is an article about the history of the smurfs and especially the role of smurfs in recent years.

http://www.sueddeutsche.de/leben/234/315127/text/
This article is about the smurfy utopia where every smurf has as an individual smurf a function though they are all living in a collective.
The fun about collecting the smurf figures is described as well. The man says, that you don't interact with the figures (because you can't move them), but can put them together to build a story.

There are some more articles and the "Smurfs and the Magic Flute" will even be shown on German TV tomorrow.

I didn't found any articles (but didn't really looked for any), but yesterday I woke up to the news in the radio (as usual) and the lady was talking about the smurfs annyversary being "today" and how she had the houses and stuff. :-D

Was a nice smurfy way to wake & get up. :D
There are those who believe that life here began out there...

I feel that is what I am missing in my life... a large helium smurf to float over my bed as I sleep. Oddly I would bid on that!!!

Thanks for showing us the link Alan, good report..but why do they always put things like 'they're smurf a FORTUNE' and then show a picture of macdonalds smurfs which are worth nothing..expect a flood of ebay auctions for macdonalds smurfs at silly prices :) :)
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.
