International priority shipping has nearly become unaffordable..especially to Australia, the price she quoted Bill was correct and I bet the box made it within 10 days :D.

From what my local postmaster explained to me around Christmas, there are really only two kind of international shipping now (and they just increased the rates again)..priority..and economy and you either pay more than the stuff is worth and it gets there on time or shipping is better moneywise, but by the time it gets there the other person has forgotten what they ordered. Once you put priority on the package..it has to be shipped priority :D It really gets odd with shipping stuff to Europe...I sent a few packages of today..and one was to Belgium which cost $18.00..and both the postmaster and I were amazed that it would have been much cheaper sending the same package to Great Britain...We couldn't figure that one out at all :-?

Bill, did the plushes come with the DVDs? The ones on the Target website say they come with DVDs and I kind of thought they are in a box like the others..but on the picture Brad posted looks like they are unboxed plushes :-?
Does the display box have smurfs on it or just the words LaLaLa?

Hi Moey; They actually had two types of Plush Smurfs. The Five that are sitting in the box on here are benie baby size. The other one I saw was the same one I got at toys R Us. It did have a DVD they only had the plain Smurf one Might have had sold the others. When I went to toys R us the day before they only had the same one and a couple of the 50th anniversary ones. I didn't look at the inside of the box, but I'm sure it's the same one.
The really sad thing about shipping that mushroom playset was just a few days after I sent it. He was around 100 miles from me. I guess his girlfriend lives somewhere around Kansas city.

Yes I knew that. I have all four. But Target only has the plain Smurf one in stock. Toys R Us only has the Plain Smurf and the 50th anniversary one left. I know they had all four at one time because thats where I got mine. The other five plushes that Target has don't have a DVD just a tiny Plush about the same size as a benie baby.

Yeah I know, I have them all, I thought when you said you looke in the bos and didn't know if it was the same one you were refering to the dvds.

BTW there are 2 versions of the 50th anniversary bosed smurf, one that toys-r-us sold and one th was a QVC exclusive that was the first edition of the boxed smurf and says on the front "First Edition 1 of 25,000"

No Moey asked me if the box had LA LA LA one the inside or just Smurfs. I was answering her question. I didn't look at the box that closly. I will have to make another trip to look for the houses and other playsets.

Try another trip after this weekend, from what all the stores are telling me the new Smurfs will be out between now and the end of next week as they are doing a reset of the Toy departments after the holiday craziness and resetting them for the spring.

For all the non- USA members, if you do not have a Target or Walmart and want these, see if one of the smurfy members on the different forums will help you out instead of buying them from the ebay rip off sellers who are selling them for twice the price or more, sellers like benitocereno, amb_buffy, and tigerjaad, that is just not smurfy of them!

I just had some correspondence with both those sellers and both don't care they are ripping you guys off!

Hi Moey; Here's a pic of the 50th anniversary with the two little one's in front.

Image

You know how hard this pic was to take. Max is fighting me trying to get to them. I had to pull the chair away from my computer desk or he would have had one of them for lunch. :) :) :) Also here is a pic of the playset with the two plushes I have.

I can't believe that your Target store doesn't have them or do you not have a Target? As I understand it Walmart will have them soon. Most people seem to only want the Papa Smurf and Smurfette. There were quite a lot of the others but only 1 of each Papa and Smurfette. I have only checked one Walmart we have three and a Sam's. I have to barrow someone's card to go there. We have a couple of corproate cards. I don't ever go there so I didn't want one.
P.S. the pic's of the playset was very hard to take. Max was trying the get at the Smurfette. You can see his head in the pic.

Chattanooga has several Targets, but the disadvantage of living out in the woods is that they are about 50 miles away from me :) :) :) I've made the trip every day for 8 years, so now I try to limit it as much as possible. I am very tempted to go today and might do it..but I do have a catty patient on my hands :-?

For some reason, smurf items usually arrive last in my area as well, so there is no guarantee they have them today anyway :D

If I had to guess I would say the target store here has had them for awhile. Unless they only put a couple of the papa's and Smurfettes in the box. I doubt that they are the most popular ones there were about three of each of the others that I didn't get. I would say the box could hold 6 or 8 of each. So unless one person came in and bought a bunch of them several people had bought some.

Just got a call from Moey and she has gone to Target to pick up the new smurfs...the only one she said they didn't have was Papa. Dyar and I will be heading over to my Target very soon as well :D Can't wait to see more smurfs live in the stores. It was fun finding all the plushes at TRU over the summer too :woohoo:

I have moved this topic into smurfy chat so it's easier to find in the future

yep...just came back (couldn't help but had to go )

and here is what I found :-D

One of the display boxes is now in my home  the lady at the register asked if I really wanted it...Heck, yeah

I left the blue one in the store (for now) as I didn't want to seem to be too greedy 8)

Did you only pick upthe display or did you buy the contents as well Maureen? ;-)

Postby Smurfysmurf » Sat Jan 10, 2009 12:47 pm

What do you think? :winks:

I have to admit I was more excited about the display box though :sofunny:

BTW..if anybody is interested..they didn't have too many down here (and now have even less) but I have more Targets in the area :D

The prices seem to be universal and are quite affordable

The Beanie plushes are $5.99
the playsets are $5.99
the houses are $14.99

so if anybody is interested..let one of us know, I am sure between us we can not only sell the stores out but also get one of each to everybody overseas :D

The house are quite large so shipping will be high (American shipping goes by size and weight) but I think it's worth it as they are really nice sets

They do look lovely indeed Maureen!

But I mainly collect the figures ( due to a lack of space) and sometimes I`m grateful for that. :D
I admire you for storing all the smurfy items ( and still having place for Mogli and your dogs and who knows what else?) :)
