I was thinking the same thing, Maureen!!!!!!

We saw the BASF chemist after the fair on ebay, but the smurfs had been released...How on earth (if the lady has said to Dominique that the smurfs hasn´t been produced) is the smurfette on ebay??????

I am afraid if she has said that she can´t send smurfs directly, the probablity of gettimg one through BASF Spain is 0,00001%

Who knows!!!!!

Maureen,

of course she has already been made. Otherwise the CEO of BASF, Juergen Hambrecht, wouldn´t have been able to show it in Ludwigshafen 26th February. They probably only have given it to a few people yet.

Maybe they don´t want collectors to call them all the time????? :-?

How many smurfs collectors are there in Germany?????1000????How many of them would call them to get info about the smurfette?????10-20%????It is not too much for such an important company!!!!!!!!

I don´t know if I have been the only one in Spain who has called them...The lady was nice too, but she did know NOTHING about the smurfette...the truth is that she even had not heard about the chemist :) :) :) :) :)

Yes Joaquin,

I agree. Maybe not the phonecalls. :banghead:

But maybe they are not allowed to give them away before the fair. :-?

I found this info on a coming fair in Paris on BASF-site.

"BASF’s special product line for composites will be shown at the JEC Composites Show in Paris, March 24 to 26, 2009. Around the globe the fair is considered as one of the most important for the named specialty materials. To provide greater efficiencies in manufacturing high-performance wind turbine rotors the company is offering new systems based on epoxy resins and curing agents sold under the Baxxodur® brand. BASF’s RELIUS Coatings, designed especially for rotor blades, will represent another highlight. Also featured at BASF’s booth will be a special Ultrason®, a high-temperature resistant polyethersulfone now being made available as a powder. Its use improves not only the production process but also the toughness of heat-resistant epoxy resins which are applied, for instance, in the production of automotive racing and aircraft components."

Maybe this could be the fair you are looking for??? Maybe not the right products though??? :-?

Thanks for asking the BASF people Dominique.

I think we'll just have to keep an eye on ebay to see what happens next. I would really like to have one of these smurfettes but I shall wait until the price is right I think. Looking at the prices some items are selling for on ebay right now it might be a long wait!! :banghead: :banghead:

Shame they don't ship to the UK :(
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Ah, you know that this'll invade ebay just like the one from last year. I'll wait a few months. Spent loads on Smurfs this year already and need to give my card a break! I sometimes wonder what the people at Mastercard think when they look at my statement!

Perhpas someone here does not know why the smurf is called Dr. DINCH

In 2002, BASF introduced an alternative plasticizer for use in PVC applications. Di-isononyl-cyclohexane dicarboxylate (DINCH), marketed under the Hexamoll name, was developed for use in sensitive applications where exposure to toxicological and exposure issues were of great concern such as the manufacturing of toys, medical devices, and food packaging. According to BASF, extensive studies have shown that DINCH possesses no environmental and reproductive hazards as well as no peroxisome proliferation. In October 2006, Hexamoll DINCH received an approval from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) making DINCH safe to use in food contact applications such as cling film, tubes, or sealants. Hexamoll DINCH now has German, European, and Japanese Food Contact approvals with a U.S. FDA approval in progress.

And I wonder...why is the smurfette called Hexalotte at the auction Dominique linked?????? I suppose HEXA is the root of Hexamoll, but is it usual to make name in german with the end otte??? :-? :-? :-? :-?

@Joaquin:
Lotte derives from the female forename Charlotte, thus I would assume that they wanted to add a name that would both combine Smurfette as well as fit to Hexa, they named her Hexalotte.
