I have the BASF-smurfette now. :D

I have a friends father who lives both in Weisbaden in Germany, where he works and here in Linköping in Sweden where I live. He has the smurfette and the smurf from Basf for me but we decided not to send it. Because he is going to Linköping on friday anyway and then I don´t have to pay for the shipping. I thought I was going to get it last weekend when his daughter went to Linköping but she left before he got it.

Both them and I have had bad experiences with things disapearing and getting lost for a couple of months in the deutsche post so we decided not to ship it. :)

Shame though I have to wait another week for her. Hope it is worth waiting for. :D

On saturday 5th I will add pictures for you. Maybe some other collector here do it before me though???

/André

Where did you get it from Andre? Somebody at the conference?
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Steve,

I was the one who bought her on ebay. :) :)

But I wanted my friend in Germany to get it before I told you. It would have been a shame if it disapeared in the mail.

I also think 78 euro is high but I couldn´t resist her. :) :)

And I am not sure I will keep her. Maybe sell her in Sweden and get a cheaper one later. Just wants to see how she looks.

Unfortunately my contact who helped me last time is now working back in the US and knew nothing about her

smurf collectors should think of getting a job at a spy agency, we are so good at trying to extract information from people and nobody better mess with our little smurf fix :) :) :)

Here are some better close-up of both Dr. Dinch and Hexalotte. :smitten:

I can't believe the price they went for!

Yes,

I thought 78 was very high.

And I agree with what everyone have written before. Just wait until after the fair, whenever and wherever it is :-? , then you can get it for about 20. But if it is correct what the lady told Dom, the Hexalotte also comes in 6 colours. And this will probably keep the price up for a while.

I think you're right André. I had to wait a long time until I won one of the lab smurfs as I didn't want to pay as much as €24 but still ended up paying around €20 each for the 2 I got.

Tojo,

when I bought the Hexalotte I also bought the Basf-smurf at the same time( saved shippingcost) for 18 euro.

But now when I see them together like this. If they are given them away like this there will be a lot more of the basf-smurf also, so we will probably be able to get him cheaper after the fair. Or what do you think????? :-?

/André

I think it's hard to say. I'm sure that a lot of collectors didn't want to pay more than perhaps €15 for him so have waited hoping that they might get one cheaper. If they reappear on ebay in larger quantities then demand might still keep the prices high, but then again anything can happen....

I agree the case with the BASF smurf couple seems to be high, but we don't know yet how many of these are release like this, so depending on the rarity of this particar item the buyer might have gotten a very good deal :-?

One thing that drives/drove the price of the BASF smurf so high is that most collectors wanted/want all six of them (six different tags) and a lot of us wanted to be among the first to be able to say we have the full set. (I still don't have the full set...I am only half way there :) )

I have to admit I was one of them that wanted this smurf so badly that I paid way over value for it (around 60 euros), and about a year later, I was able to buy three or four in one set for the same price. This really made me decide to wait longer for the smurfette.

I also think, the reason most of us wanted to be among the first to get one of the BASF smurfs was the fact that it was so new and we didn't know how many of those would be around. It seems there are more than enough of them for everybody, so it will be very interesting to see how soon the smurfette will become affordable for most of us (meaning the price range will be between 20-30 euros). I have noticed that online stores still sell Dr Dinch for a high price.

HI everyone, so exciting this news about the new basf smurfette,, this week end I sent email to my contacts in germany in basf, he is working polymer (I'm a chemist) so in the right place. We will see if he has some info about this news.

This only info I have is that schleich will use hexamoll for smurfs soon and not the usual pvc anymore. And I'm pretty sur that Dr Dinch and hexamott are the first smurfs made with this new polymer...

"Following the completion of various regulative authorization procedures, Hexamoll® DINCH is being widely launched into the market. Smurfs, doll's heads and footballs from major toy manufacturers like Schleich, Zapf and John already contain BASF's new plasticizer"
