Thanks, Gerda! 8)

I hope that they come out soon. I've been going to Target every couple of weeks to see if they're on the shelves yet.

My wife purchase three of the new smurf packages (two in each: Jokey and Grouchy, Poet and Smurfette, Papa and Brainy) while she was shopping at Walmart for groceries.
I like them "ok", but nothing can replace the original Schleich PVC's of course. I have them displayed nicely, and they do seem to fit in well with the look of my display.
However, I don't like the playset houses at all. The stickers with "house implements" printed on them seem very cheap to me. I think that the idea behind them is great, but the followthrough could have been done better. It's too bad that Schleich couldn't make mushroom houses like these that come open!

Thank you, it's taken me awhile to find. I love the marburger press ones the most (my mom was born there :-D )

I was looking at the Jakks Pacific websitethe other day and noticed that they had photos of different colored houses. Plus some of the accessories are different too. I know from the photos Brad (I think it was him) posted of the cars that were different but I thought these were interesting too. I'm sure we'll never seen these color variations or accessories in stores but it's nice to see the variations next to each other:D

Wow Staci; That is really intresting to see. The only thing I see in the pic that are the same are the Stove in Smurfette's house. Even the figures are difftrent. GET ME SOME OF THE NEW ONES. :) :) I know if you could you would. I didn't see the normal one did they not have a diffrent one of it?

I like the new pics better than the real houses! :) :)

If we could get away with it I would file a lawsuit for false advertisment and get the "original" of course I could never get away with it. Do you think company's just make up a prototype no money spared and then when it goes into mass production they tone things down to save a buck. :-?

You know, I thought the colors were the same but there may be different accessories so I've posted both of the normal smurf house too. In the preproduction one, they correctly have Greedy since it does look like it'd be his house anyway with all the food :) :)

I've stopped at the store today and been looking at them. :)

I kind of like the smurfs, dislike the cars and am not sure about the houses.... how do they look once they're closed?

Also think the prices are ok. about 6,5€ for the blister packs with 2 smurfs/1 smurf+acessories, about 20€ for the cars, and can't remember the houses (unless the 20 are the houses and the cars are priced around the middle of the)

Am thinking about getting the blisters with just the 2 smurfs... my only question/doubt is: if there's only 9 diferent smurfs, how are they packing the last 3? or on other words, there's one left alone...

EDIT: Never mind my previous question, I just "fast" scrolled the +20 pages of this thread and saw the pics of them. :-D

I was talking to a lady on MV the other day she just discovered that the Smurfs were being sold at target. She asked it they were only being sold at target. I told her they also could be found at toys r us and walmart. She found at toys r us that they are also selling PVC Smurfs. I have not had a chance to check mine yet. That would be great if they started selling PVC's again. :-D

Thanks for showing those interesting differences, Staci. :D
@Sandra: I didn't intend to start off side-tracking, but the more I was seeing them, the more I became fond of them and I dare say that I love them as much as the pvcs. :smitten: :D

Are they available in the USA? or just Australia? I hope they are available in the USA!

Postby bradley » Tue Jun 16, 2009 7:14 am
they are available in the USA. these toys aren't available in Australia yet. Although you'll find the beanies at Myer... which reminds me I took a look in Myers on the weekend to see the beanies. No other smurfs yet :( but I wanted to tip all the beanies out onto the shelve and walk out with the box they are in, hehe.

the seller with these new play along smurfs is located at Durham, NC, United States. So all the US collectors will have to start searching for them.
