In the DSK, this smurfette is described as a spanish variation.
I doubt if that is true, because I did some research and I noticed that there are 2 different smurfettes with blue rope.
Rope one is smaller and has a slightly darker blue color then the second one.
Besides, it has a Cabelte marking on the inside of the rope.

I found out that Cabelte is a Portugese cable company and I got this smurfette directly from Portugal.
so I would say that this is a portugese variation, not a spanish one.
If someone has more info, I like to hear it, please

After reading the earlier posts, I think the smurfette on the picture right, with unmarked larger rope, could be a fake.
However, it`s my sincere opinion that the smurfette, with rope marked CABELTE, is a genuine promo!!

I agree Lia and think the unmarked one is definitly a fake...there were too many ropes around at one time and too many smurfettes needing a rope so it was easy to put them both together.

As for the other...I can't say..I only have the unmarked one and not the one with the marking

I wasn't aware of the difference in both ropes, so a big thank you to you, Lia, for posting the picture

This is a question I have thoight many times: the blue rope smurfette...I have both of them, and the unmarked one is a fake...But, has it sense a company uses such small letters to promo itself?????I suppose a promo smurf should be a smurf with more visible NAME OF COMPANY or a big logo???????????

why put the name where almost noone sees it?????

And if the company´s cables has the exact same markings and looks the same in colours I would be very suspicious. This one is so easy to fake this way.

But there actually must be a way to check them. If it has copperwire inside I guess it should be possible to check without cutting the rope. Because everyone must agree that even if it is a promo it should not have a metal inside the rope, right?

I will try to find out if there is a easy way to check this. Maybe anyone knows this??

Here are 2 smurfette and a cable( from IKEA, though ). As you know these Smurfettes could have different sizes of the ropes, but I guess my cables are almost the same size.

I have now cut 3 cables in approx. the right lenght.

Now I soon will have the rare IKEA promo bluerope Smurfette.

And the brown rope and the green/yellow rope Smurfette.

OK I will be more serious.

Here is a way to check if it is metall inside. If you bend it you can change form on the cable with metal inside, and it will stay that way when you let it go. Like this.

I managed to find 4 Hongkong Smurfettes and one didn´t have the rope.

So I pulled to parts out which was still in the holes. I didn,´t have to use the drill.

So now I have the bluerope Smurfette.

And the rare brown rope Smurfette.

For you electricians, the yellow and green rope. I think that one was the best.

And I also have to add that it is possible to remove ( pull) the metal from the plastic cover and only use the cover. So you can fake these without any metal inside the ropes. But it is easier to assemble them tothe Smurfette with the metalwires still there.

But I don´t glue these because so far I don´t collect fakes.
