Does Gargamel's Lab also come in the new box with "Peyo Creations"?

I was at my Toys R Us to buy some more of the new boxes, but they only had the Drum set in the new box, and Gargamel's Lab was in the older box :-?

I am debating whether or not to open my new boxes....are the cottages and playsets variations as well or can I leave them sealed? :)

Hi Maureen, ( am I the only one calling you Maureen here? :shhh: )

Mine are different. You can look at the pictures in the markings on cottageroofs thread.

And I have the gargamels lab in the Peyo creations box.

Here is the link to the Gargamels lab thread.

http://www.forum.bluecavern.com/viewtopic.php?t=12092

I asked Schleich about these boxes and all of this years smurf-boxed items you should be able to get in this box.

3 cottages, 1 large house, 2 playsets and 10 supers.

Thanks Andre (no you aren't the only one...everybody pretty much calls me what they want so you are fine :) )

I think I have all the new boxes now (except for the lab and maybe one or two supers) which is something else, me thinks, as I never thought I would buy them....but what is a smurf collector to do when you see them on the shelves in the store? :o

I'll open mine this afternoon to see what's in there

You told me to buy more cottages, Andre...and I listened :)

Maureen,

I always try to open the boxes I buy if possible without ruining the boxes. Especially if you can´t see what is inside.

I remember long time ago when everybody told you that if you are going to Hongkong you have to buy electronics because it was very cheap compared to Sweden.

Sometimes the buyer got a surprise when he opened the box when he got back from the store or after he got back to Sweden. It was not the same item the seller had showed him in the store. :)

And if you don´t open the box you can´t see if anything is missing???

Or when I was in Israel and exchanged USD for Sheckel. It is very easy to be tricked when they count the money very fast and maybe have doublefolded some bills. :)

Maybe it is just me being a suspious person but I also wants to see what I buy.

/André

PS. If you bought the new large in the peyo creation-box. Could you post pictures of the markings for me? DS.

The markings are the same but the colors are slightly different.

1. Picture: the markings on the base
Image

2. Picture: the markings (or lack of markings) on the roof
Image

3. Picture: color variation of the roofs (right side is the house in the new box) I noticed that the flowers of the older box are solid red..is that a paint error?
Image

4. Picture: the different reds (again right side is the one in the new box)
Image

5. Picture: color variation of the doors (right side is the door in the new box)
Image

I am not sure how well the pictures captured the color variations but there is a distinct different between the two houses :D

Thanks Maureen,

mine are the same.

I don´t know why just the markings on the new cottageroofs and bases have this nice new handwritten peyo-logo( same as the word peyo on the new boxes over creation).

I guess that they started with this marking together with the new boxes because it is the same style.

Have you checked your markings on the new cottages?

Maureen,

the flowerboxes are different on mine too.

These are my flowerboxes.
Image

From right:
1. Yellow flowerbox, greenpainted leaves. Goes with the oldest version of this house with a hole behind the flowerbox on the oldest red roof. House should have a green key according to pictures and mine have this. But I can´t be sure if the more rare accessories: green key and yellow flowerbox, could be combined in different ways together with the other rare lightgreen-roofed house sold at the same time.

2. The older flowerbox. Sold together with the solid red roof with white dots. Also in polkadot box. Could have different shades of colours but looks almost the same all the time.

3. The new flowerbox sold with the new two-coloured red-yellow roof. The one with yellow dots on the flowers I got in my new Peyo creation box.

4. The new flowerbox without the yellow dots on the flowers. Sold with the same house as above. This one goes with the older polkadotbox. Is it always like this???? Check yours.

It seems both Maureen and I have these differences on the flowerbox. This actually could be a delibarate choice by Schleich and not a painterror. :)

In Sweden the smurfs are blue ( and yellow).

I checked my new colours large house (polkadot box), and it didn't have the yellow dots on the flowerbox either Andre. I don't have the Peyo Creation box for the large house as I can't get any in shops in the UK :???:
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Thanks Steve,

maybe this is a real variation. :D

If you look at the older flowerboxes. None of them have the yellow dots on the flowers.

But if you look at the pictures on the polkadotboxes they have the yellow dots. So maybe Schleich decided to start with this now. And I must say it looks a lot nicer.

That's really interesting that there is a " real" variation in the new house box :-D
Have you checked your markings on the new cottages?
They are the same, Andre. The color of the house in the orange box as a bit more matte, which I know doesn't classify it as a "real" variation per say, but I was happy with it anyway :)

The markings are different on my cottages.

They have the same peyo-marking on both roof and base, as the peyo creation logo.

I don´t have this handwritten peyo-marking on any other item.

Maybe they started with this earlier. Do you have this marking on any other cottages before the peyo creationboxes Maureen?

Thanks Maureen,

that is true. I also found this marking on one of my french magazine bases.

They started with the 2 coloured roofs on the cottages and the large house 1996. And they have probably changed this sometimes around 2005/2006. My versions of these are from before that and then they didn´t have the handwritten logo.

But the older larger houses have this. :) So you can say they are changing the logo back to the old times again. But not as faar back as the Schleichemblem. :)
